Most single tank systems do not exhaust the water supply from the tank but reserve a portion of it in an effort to avoid hard water entering the water system. When the tank regenerates, this saved water is often wasted causing costly and frequent salt usage. Additionally, if the water usage is inconsistent or sporadic this causes further waste.

The twin tank system always has one soft water tank in stand-by. As soon as one tank is exhausted, the system alternates to the stand-by tank providing uninterrupted softened water. It immediately begins regenerating the exhausted tank so that it is ready for use when you need it, ensuring that you will always have a continuous supply of conditioned water.
