September 2019 Dear Parents and Community Members, We are a couple of weeks into the new school year. We encourage you to participate and support our efforts to prepare students for college and career success. I encourage you to attend our School Advisory Council (SAC) meetings, which occurs every fourth Tuesday at 6:00 p.m. in the Media Center. I also welcome you to my monthly Coffee Chat, which occurs 30 minutes before the SAC meeting. We believe in students engaging in rigorous and relevant project-based learning. We will continue to do this through The Interdisciplinary Project (TIP), which students will complete every semester. The content area for the first TIP is Science. Please refer to our website for resources on Science TIP including information on Parent Night, Grading Rubric, and Submission Deadline. We are pleased to have ninth through eleventh-grade students join our student body. They are exceptional students, and they make us proud. Let's not forget about the super sixth grade students and new students who are now a member of our Star family. They are also great scholars. At Millennium 6-12 Collegiate Academy, we are a family. Dear Parents and Community Members,

We are a couple of weeks into the new school year.

We dream big and love each other!

With Millennium Star Pride,

General Information for our STAR Parents and Students

School Hours

Students 9:30 AM – 4:30 PM

Breakfast Begins at 9:00 AM

Notices and Reminders

The drop off location is in the front of the building. No students should be dropped off in the bus loop for safety reasons.

Upon entering the campus, you must go directly to the Front Office (Single Point of Entry), sign in and get a visitor pass. Visitors’ passes are only valid for one day. With so many people entering and exiting campus, it creates an unsafe environment and prohibits the faculty and staff from carrying out the responsibility of making sure that all children entering the Millennium campus are safe and secure.

The Teacher’s Creed

“I accept the challenge to be sagacious and tenacious in teaching every student, because I believe that every student can learn. I accept the responsibility to create a learning environment conducive to optimum achievement academically, socially, and emotionally. I actively pursue excellence for my student and myself.”

This is our promise and belief at Millennium 6-12

Collegiate Academy.

Also, if you have a concern about your child, please call the office to make an appointment. The staff at Millennium is dedicated to making sure that your children have an effective school atmosphere. That cannot be carried out if there are several unscheduled visits. An appointment also assures that your needs concerning your child can be discussed and taken care of without any interruptions.

Dismissal is the most hectic part of the day. A request for early dismissal of your child must be made prior to 4:00 PM. After that time, we will be unable to call your child to the office.

Lastly, please be advised that there is no supervision for your child before 9:00 AM and after 5:00 PM unless he or she is registered in the Before/After Care Program. All transportation arrangements for your child should be made ahead of time. We do understand that emergencies do arise and will do our best to accommodate your needs. We are also asking that you do not call the school asking that messages be delivered to your child during class time. To ensure that communication is accurate please make sure that your child is aware of things before he or she leaves home in the morning.

These guidelines and procedures are not established to inconvenience anyone or to make you feel unwelcome at Millennium. They are simply necessary for the safety and wellbeing of every child entrusted in our care. Your understanding, cooperation, and assistance are greatly appreciated.
