NORTH FERRISBURGH UNITED METHODIST CHURCH

The tomatoes in my garden are running riot. Sweet and red – a lovely harvest.

So far, God has blessed us this year beyond imagining. We are harvesting many sweet victories in our mission to share Christ’s transforming love. We have a new kitchen; a successful UM ARMY mission trip; Lobster Fest did very well; small groups are flourishing; and lots of local service projects are happening. Now we have wonderful teachers for the beginning of another Sunday school year.

My prayer for all of us – children, youth and adults – is that we will both learn about and experience God’s love and power. Then

we will understand that: “The light of God surrounds me. The love of God enfolds me; The power of God protects me; The presence of God watches over me. Wherever I am, God is.” *

I have too many tomatoes, so I am enjoying sharing them. When we are open to God’s blessings they too must be shared! Whom will you pray for, invite to church, and welcome as they appear in our midst?! !Grace and Peace,Kim

PRAYER REQUESTS

Lillian Aye was a long time resident of North Ferrisburgh and a remarkable "grandma Moses" sculptor late in life. She died last summer. NFUMC is honored to be home to her 10 foot tall Sunflower sculpture. We will be dedicating this sculpture and remembering it's creator Sunday, Sept 7th as part of 10am worship. The sunflower was inspired when Lillian, as a young German teen at the end of World War II, saw flowers blooming in the midst of rubble. The flower represents hope.
