FOLLOWING THE FOOTSTEPS OF JESUS CHRISTTOUR OF ISRAEL IN MAY 2016 - Kevin and Patti Pound invite you to join them, along with David and Elizabeth Sparks from Footstep Ministries, for an 11 day tour of Israel in May, 2016. As part of their current Sabbatical, Kevin and Patti recently took a ‘Footsteps of Paul’ tour in Greece, led by the Sparks. This tour, ‘Following the Footsteps of Jesus Christ,’ will be May 7 17, 2016. The cost for the land portion only is $3,045 and more details can be found on their website. David Sparks describes the Israel tour: As we travel through Israel we’ll visit Bethlehem, the place where the angels sang of his birth. We’ll sail across the Sea of Galilee where he stilled the waters and the wind. We’ll hear again his words as he gave his Sermon on the Mount outside of Capernaum. Most movingly we will journey with him to Jerusalem and pray as he did in the Garden of Gethsemane. We will walk the path of his passion and bow at the brow of Golgotha where Jesus gave his life for us. And, what is a highlight for all, we’ll worship in the Garden Tomb where he was raised from the grave to give all the gift of lifeboth now and forever!’ Watch for additional information in the Fall, and check out the full itinerary and other details on the website, www.footstepministries.org/israel-tour . Crave begins September 20th 6:30 – 8:30pm!! We will start off the year with our new series ‘Own It.’ Many times we let things in our lives own us…but let’s learn to take ownership of who we are, what we believe, where we are going, and even Crave itself.

CHILDREN’S MINISTRY F.R.A.T. House for 5th Graders – Friday, September 4th

F.R.A.T. House (Fifth Graders Racing Ahead to Tomorrow) is a program specifically designed to help our 5th Graders transition from Elementary School to Middle School in our church. During each F.R.A.T. House, we are ministering to kids through games, talks & activities. Our monthly activities will give your child a taste of what is to come for next year. We have found that this program really helps kids connect to their church and with each other. F.R.A.T. House is the 1st Friday of every month from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on the East Campus. We serve dinner and the cost is $3. We know your child will have a great time and encourage them to bring friends to share in the fun! The more the merrier! (Please note: If your child is bringing a friend, have their parents fill out a Children’s Ministry Registration Form located on our website: mandarinpres.com). For questions, contact Kris Murphy, [email protected].

They are particularly difficult when you continue to hope for reconciliation before the separation becomes a divorce. The Story starting at MPC mid September is a 31 week study that goes through the entire Bible, and includes

video teachings and discussion. It is a great chance to grow in your faith and knowledge of Scripture and to

build meaningful friendships. To understand the Bible, says Pastor Randy Frazee, you need bifocal lenses,

because two perspectives are involved. The Lower Story, our story, is actually many stories of men and women

interacting with God in the daily course of life. The Upper Story is God’s story, the tale of his great,

overarching purpose that puts the individual stories together like panels in one unified mural. In 31 sessions,

The Story video-based small group study opens your eyes to God’s master plan unfolding in the lives of the

Bible’s characters-and in your own life. To sign up turn this form into the info booth in the lobby or place in the

offering plate, or e-mail Jessica Konker [email protected]. Childcare is provided for several of the

classes with RSVP to [email protected].
