sum – the result when numbers are added. 50 + 35 = 85

Find 64-8 (64-10 = 54, 54 + 2 = 56 SO 64-8 = 56)
number line – a line that shows numbers in increasing size from left to right
about – an estimate 82 is about 80
round – 44 is 40 when rounded to the nearest ten
nearest ten – look at the digit in the ones place..if it is 0,1,2,3,4 round to the ten that is
less..if it
is 5,6,7,8,9 round to the greater ten
estimate – an estimate is a number close to an exact amount 105 + 7 is about 110
reasonable – you can use rounding to estimate sums and differences & check that answers
are
reasonable….105 + 7 = 112, 105 is about 110, 7 is about 10, 105 + 7 is about
120..Because 120 is
close to the actual sum, which is 112, the answer is reasonable.

angle – 2 rays joined together at a point
face – a flat surface on a 3-dimensional figure
