What Would You Do?
• Assessment– You have been teaching an intermediate reading
class to university students in their early 20s. Students have been reading graded readers and young adult literature. How can you assess their progress in a communicative, accurate way?

• Motivation– You are teaching a class of older teens: advanced
writing. They need to write five-paragraph academic essays. How can you frame the assignment so it’s interesting for them and they will be more likely to complete the assignment?

What Would You Do?
• Student-centered classroom– You are teaching a presentation skills class. How

What Would You Do?
• Communicative approach– Think of some communicative ways to check
written-out homework assignments like grammar worksheets. Be creative!
