REMOVING UNIT FROM SHIPPING CRATE

1 . To remove unit from crate first remove the top Next Remove the long side attached with screws allowing access to the sink apparatus. 2.Before removing unit from crate, remove the legs 3. !!!!! Caution !!!! Leave Ballast container inside the sink. The sink is very top heavy and will tip over backwards if not supported when you lift it out of the crate.

4.Remove any shipping blocks on inside of crate that hold the sink down at each end.

5.Using a fork lift carefully lift the sink unit from the crate while supporting the back splash to prevent tipping over.

6.With unit raised on the forklift, install leg assemblies and tighten set screws under sink that hold leg assemblies on. 7.Place sink unit at desired location. Level unit using the adjustable feet at bottom of each leg. Anchor legs to floor. Using conduit connect 230 v ac power to unit from a dedicated 15 amp breaker circuit.

Remove Brass Screen Holder Assemblies.11.

Pipe drains to laboratory waste water drains.

12.Connect incoming water supply.

13.For each station individually set manual valve to spray in on position and with timer switch set to manual adjust pressure for each spray

to 35 psig.

14.Replace Brass Screen Holder Assemblies. Put carbon black sample for testing into funnel. 325 mesh screens are normally run with 35 mesh back up screen. Set Timer switch to manual position and with manual valve open wash sample until wash water is clear. When wash water is clear set Timer switch to Auto and timer will allow 3 minutes of additional washing per ASTM procedure.

14.Follow attached ASTM Sieve Residue Procedure for determining sieve residue result.

15.Distance from spray tip to screen should be about 0.7 inches. This is set by manufacturer and should not need adjusting until changing spray nozzle at some future date.

There is a spray tip distance gauge provided with the unit.
