Ferrate High Redox Potential No carcinogenic disinfection
byproducts Final product (Ferric hydroxide)
is non-toxic Shown to treat antibiotics,
hormones, and personal care products
Disinfects and stabilizes biosolids

Wetlands Assimilation Phase II Process flow
– Ferrate treated effluent from Clarifier #1 is pump to cells
Goal is to evaluate the effectiveness of – Ferrate in binding the endocrine disrupting
chemical discharged in the final effluent, and – Biosolids (Class A biosolids and ash) in
enhancing the growth of the baldcypress and tupelo trees in the assimilation of wetlands

Wetlands Assimilation Phase II A-1 at $2,750,000 consists of
– construction of two cells – 24 acres total – both cells receiving ferrate disinfected effluent – one cell receiving Class A biosolids.

Current Status – Completion of pipeline installation – Veolia to place biosolids and ash – Pumping ferrate treated effluent into two cells – Reduced salinity levels will allow for planting of
baldcypress and tupelo – One year monitoring and analysis
