Description

sgg DECORGLASS is a range of translucent patterned glass. Produced by passing molten glass between two engraved rollers, the product is available in clear, bronze, grey and yellow. Other colours are available on request.

Patterned on one side only (sgg LISTRAL L has both sides patterned), the range is available in several thicknesses and wired in some patterns.

Applications

sgg DECORGLASS can be installed in partitions allowing privacy as well as light transmission. The range can be adapted perfectly for interior as well as exterior applications. It can be used in residential and professional spaces.

Visual Control Factor

The visual control factor is a set of criteria established and registered by Saint-Gobain Glass. It is based on the identification of the same object placed behind glass panes of sgg DECORGLASS at an equal distance and under similar lighting.

Large thicknesses

The sgg DECORGLASS range has four patterns available in large thicknesses: 8 mm - 19 mm.

Other patterns available in larger thicknesses are: sgg ARENA C, sgg LISTRAL L and sgg VISION: 8 mm – 10 mm.

SR is a special type of glass that facilitates tempering.

The thickness of sgg BALDOSA GRABADA offers a unique quality, making it ideal for tables, and furniture in bathrooms or bars for example.

Applications

In large sizes, the range is ideal for doors, partitions and bathroom furniture to create classic and sophisticated spaces.

The droplet design of sgg WATERDROP is ideal for spaces where privacy is very important. It is easily applied to residential areas (bathroom, kitchen, etc.) and professional spaces (hospitals, offices, leisure centres, etc.).

Standards

sgg DECORGLASS complies with the requirements of standard EN 572-5 for patterned glass and EN 572-6 for wired patterned glass. sgg DECORGLASS must be installed in accordance with safety standards and current national regulations.

Installation

Cutting

Patterned glass can have an orientation. To get the desired visual result, it is crucial to respect the orientation during cutting and afterwards in the installation.

Double Glazing

The positioning of the patterned face should take into account the characteristics of each design. It is recommended that the patterned side should be placed on face 2, 3 or 4 of the double glazed unit.

Installing

sgg DECORGLASS wired patterns must not be placed close to a heat source. Where installation is in humid places or one subject to significant atmospheric pollution, the edges of the pane must be treated appropriately.

Processing

Dependent on the pattern, sgg DECORGLASS can be:

– assembled in double glazing

– laminated as a security glass (1) sgg STADIP and sgg STADIP PROTECT (reinforced protection);

– incorporated into sgg STADIP SILENCE

acoustic PVB safety laminated glass (1);

– tempered (for safety purpose) (2)

or enameled. SR guarantees the product has an optimized quality to be tempered.

– Manufactured, curved, silvered, lacquered or grounded.

(1) Patterned side facing the outside of the assembly. For sgg ARENA C, sgg THELA and sgg MARIS, lamination with safety PVB interlayer is possible. For other patterns, tests are recommended. Please consult us.

(2) sgg SR LISTRAL L, sgg SR ARENA C, sgg THELA, sgg MARIS. These patterns undergo additional quality controls during their production to improve yields while tempering.

Performances

Light transmission

Light transmission of clear patterned glass sgg DECORGLASS is between 80 and 90% depending on the pattern and thickness.

Vision through the glazing can be modulated from almost transparent to semi-opaque.

Processing

The products in the sgg MASTERGLASS range are suitable for numerous types of processing. They can be curved or edgeworked to enhance their appearance.

All patterns can be toughened for security applications. Various patterns may be laminated: sgg STADIP and sgg STADIP PROTECT (polished face to PVB).

For acoustic solutions, patterns can be integrated with sgg STADIP SILENCE. For thermal comfort, sgg MASTERGLASS can be integrated into double glazing (with low-E products).
