2017- BUILDING ON SUCCESSES OF 2016

CHAIRMAN’S UPDATE Q’1 2017

➢ Organized a “special session” for members with regional regulators during the MENA MedTech forum with authorities and regulators, including SFDA, JFDA, Oman MOH and Egypt MOH

➢ Facilitated and participated in a Round-table with Iranian authorities Brussels

➢ Were represented in a round-table with Minister of Health, KSA in Washington DC

➢ Confirmed initiatives with KSA Chamber of Commerce

➢ Post-leadership survey, facilitated SAGIA’s meeting with MedTech Manufacturers in USA in cooperation with US Chamber of Commerce and AdvaMed

➢ Collaborated with SFDA and MOH UAE on revision of their Codes of Ethics

➢ Received a positive feedback on cooperating with MOH KSA on the same

EXTERNAL FOCUS

➢ Increased Membership to 33 companies

➢ Further raised awareness by participating in the Arab Health jointly with the CVS and Ethical MedTech

➢ Successfully organized the 3rd MENA MedTech Forum on 8-9th March 2017, where engaged in improving gender diversity in the industry

➢ Revised the Code of Ethics to align with MedtechEurope

➢ Conducted legal trainings for members on the new commercial and labor laws in the region during the General Meetings

➢ Engaged in Value-Based Procurement project; planning a special training for members and launching a pilot with selected healthcare providers

➢ Launched healthcare maps of key markets (KSA and UAE), working on other geographies
