Once, there was a woman who lived outside of town. People who lived in
the town thought that she was different from them. When the people
saw her, they would just pass her by. They wouldn’t wave or smile or say
anything at all to her. This made her sad. She didn’t smile very much.
Every day she walked alone down the dusty street to the well to fill up
her water pitcher. She didn’t want to be seen by anyone so she waited
until everyone had gone home before she went outside. She hurried
down the street. When she reached the well, she dipped her pitcher in
the well to fill it. “May I have a drink of water?” someone asked.
"Who said that?" asked the woman. She was surprised! She didn’t
expect to see anyone at the well. When she turned around, she saw
Jesus! The woman poured Jesus a cup of water. She was surprised that
Jesus would talk to her, since not many other people ever did. Jesus
told the woman that God loved her very much and that she didn’t need
to be afraid of what people said about her. She never had anyone talk
to her in such a nice way. She knew how special Jesus was and was very
happy that Jesus would take the time to be so kind to her.
Because Jesus loved her, the time they shared that day at the well was
special to her. She felt very important and special. And then something
amazing happened. Her face did something it hadn’t done in a long, long
time. She began to smile. Jesus showed her how much she was loved
just by spending some time with her.
I can share like Jesus did.
Jesus shared His time because
He loved people.
Who can you share your time
with to show you love them?
Put the story in the correct order by numbering them!

Group Activity Time Craft TimeGroup Activity Time Craft TimeGroup Activity Time provides an active learning experience to review lesson concepts.
Directions:
1. Copy the craft page onto cardstock and have the children cut out. You may consider precutting for younger preschoolers.
2. Have the children color the lips of the mouth and then glue the mouth onto the paper plate.
3. Attach the stick to the bottom of the plate to create a place to hold the mask.
4. Glue the marshmallows onto the teeth.5. Optional: Once the children are finished with their masks, give them
different situations in which they would smile or not smile (i.e. a friend shares a toy, your brother says something mean to you, etc.). The children can answer by holding up the smile mask if it is a situation that would make them smile.
