Brief History:Te Shawshank Redemption is a 1994 American drama lm written and directed by FrankDarabont and starring im Robbins and Morgan Freeman.Adapted rom the Stephen King novella Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption,the lm tells the story o Andy Duresne, a banker who spends nearly two decades inShawshank State Prison or the murder o his wie and her lover despite his claims oinnocence. During his time at the prison, he beriends a ellow inmate, Ellis Boyd RedRedding, and nds himsel protected by the guards aer the warden begins using him inhis money laundering operation.

Big Idea:Tis movie is my all time avorite thriller, and suspense movie. I want to break ree romthe traditional designs o a DVD cover. I want to create an artistic poster which gives asmart clue rom the movie to the Shawshank Redemption ans, and something to think orthe new viewers.

Ill be creating o minimalist cover poster or the DVD. I dont want do create a cliche oall the other thriller movies, but Ill defnitely get some ideas rom them. Te whole ideais to entice people to watch the movie by giving them something about the movie, but noteverything so that it wouldnt spoil the movie. Te plan to advertise this new product isby the use o print ads in various mediums and through tv commercials. Tis redesign willchange the view o the people who judge movies by the covers. Also because o the rebooto the whole Te Shawshank Redepmtion, people are interested in watching the original

version as well so this new design will encourage them to buy or rent the movie, andincrease the sales or the ranchise.
