ABOUT SGO
She Geeks Out hosts monthly events in the Boston and Cambridge area. These events
are designed to bring amazing women together in super cool sponsor spaces, promote
networking, and allow us to learn about and from each others’ geeky pursuits. We eat,
drink, mingle, and hear from awesome local ladies. Proceeds from She Geeks Out events
support local organizations focused on girls in STEM, such as Science Club for Girls.
Events are women-only, and are welcoming and respectful of trans women.

2015 speakers……they’re pretty amazing!
Abbie Waite
Executive Director at Intelligent.ly
Before joining Intelligent.ly, Waite spent four
years building FutureChefs, Boston’s only
pathway program for teens with a restaurant and
non-profit collaboration – a role in which she
became exposed to the Hub’s bustling tech
scene through TUGG.
“I am a planner who knows how to make a lot
happen with a little. I love the challenge of
building organizations from the ground up for
ideas, products, and organizations that help
people succeed,” says Abbie about herself.

In early 2014, Intelligent.ly set out to build
a community of leaders by creating a new
normal for leadership development in

Kathleen is an entrepreneur, arts hacker, opera
singer, acoustician. Co-Founder and CEO, Trill.
She spoke at SGO’s May event. She has worked
in the arts, in front of and behind the curtain, for
over 10 years. She recently graduated with her
MBA from MIT Sloan School of Management,
where she co-created Hacking Arts, Boston's first
festival and hackathon exploring the intersection
of arts, technology, and entrepreneurship.

Kat earned her BFA from Massachusetts College
of Art and Design before founding CLEAR design
lab to help startups navigate the design and
prototyping process in a broad range of fields
including medical devices, consumer electronics,
and robotics, using her passion and experience
to help bring their ideas to market. Kat spoke at
SGO’s August 2015 event.

CLEAR design lab is a product
development studio that specializes in
designing hardware products for forward
thinking companies.
Diane Hessan is the CEO of Startup Institute,
Chairman of C Space, author, lover of all things
marketing, baseball and politics, and Mom to two
fabulous daughters.
Diane spoke at SGO’s June 2015 event, sharing
words of wisdom she’s received and encouraging
attendees to share their own.

INSTITUTE
Startup Institute is designed to open new
doors for students. In addition to expert
training in the most in-demand skills, they
also offer personalized career mentorship
and connections to the people and
companies that advance students’ careers.
For over fifteen years, Sarah Beaulieu has helped
leaders and organizations expand their networks,
launch strategic partnerships, and secure funding
to execute their missions in the world. She is a
consultant, coach, and advisor for a number of
national organizations here in Boston. Sarah is a
board member of the Boston Area Rape Crisis
Center, and passionate advocate for ending
sexual violence through her work at The Enliven
Project. Most recently, Sarah served as Senior
Advisor to Opportunity Nation, a campaign to
increase economic opportunity in America.
Sarah spoke at SGO’s October event in 2015,
sharing her 8 tips for networking like an introvert.

PROJECT
The Enliven Project is a campaign to bring
sexual violence out of the closet and lift
survivors to their full potential. The
Enliven Project is grounded in the idea that
change cannot take place unless we tell
the truth about our lives, our organizations,
and our social movements.

Lillian is a data scientist who loves all things data,
food, math, cats, and Boston. Before getting her
hands into clypd’s data she worked at Twitter,
Compete, BzzAgent and got her Masters in
Mathematics at W.P.I. She gave a great talk on
the importance of creating smart, helpful charts
and graphs to communicate important information
at her office at clypd for the October 2015 SGO
event.

ABOUT CLYPD
clypd is the advertising technology
platform built exclusively for the television
industry, empowering media owners with
programmatic ad solutions. Founded in
2012, the company’s TV sales platform
delivers workflow automation, data-
enhanced decisioning and provides media
partners with tools to manage their sales
efforts. clypd’s innovations around
programmatic television is opening doors
for incremental digital budgets currently
not available to the TV media owners.
Kimiko Tanaka Vecchione is the Director of
Solutions Architecture at Velir, a full-service
digital agency that designs and develops
enterprise web solutions for experience-driven
organizations. Kimiko has experience specializing
in CMS, Business Process, Digital Strategy and
Solution Architecture. When she’s not at work
she enjoys traveling and spending time with her
family. Kimiko spoke at the Velir event held in
November 2015.
