What is a “Pilgrimage to Hell?”:

Feel history when visiting temples and Jizo

sites associated with hell. (Jizo Bosatsu is a

Buddhist divinity who saves beings suffering in

hell.) Stop along the way for delicious

gourmet foods and shopping at shops on the

paths to the sacred sites. Then pray at Taga

Taisha, a shrine that offers divine blessings in

matchmaking.
