Where did we go wrong? This quest ion is

    often

ask by parents when there teenager

    or

their child has caused a problem in the family

    and the

    hurt

    has now begun

    and

    parents begin

    to

    search

    their

    minds

    as

    to

    what

    they might

    have

    done

    in

    the past to have

    to

    not come

    to

    this type of thinking. We are a l l victims a t

    one time or

    another

    of knowing

    that

    something

can change this questiong to - Where did

    we

    go

    right?

I have always wanted to say

    that

and this i s my opportunity to sha re w ith you

    the

    opportunity

    to

    have people say- Where

    did

    we go right?

    This

    is to start our Pre-School

    he r e

    t

    Mai l i Chr i s t i a n Church .

    Our scripture

    give

    us the cha llenge of

    giving

    a child

    the r ight s ta r t in l i fe .

    Too often we

    have come to blame

    the

    system when i f we

    would

    have s topped and thought

    that

    we

    must

    do

    our

part as adults to check out what i s

    happen

    ing

    in the world

    and

to do our part to give a

    young person the r ight s ta r t in l i fe .

    At present we

    are doing our uttmost

    to

    get the

    old

    Honfed

    building in Waianae.

    We

    would

    not

    have to

    pay anything

    for

    the

    building

    except

    for the

    moving and possible removal

    of

    some

    asbestos in

    the

    floor.

    I f i t is

    possible

    to

move t he bui ld ing without cutting

    i t

    then this

    problem

    would be removed also. We

    are

    asking

    that

    a l l

    of you who

    read

    this

    be in constant

    prayer that

    this

    wil l

    be

    one

    of the ways that

    we

    can change

    that

    f i rs t

    question and

    fu l f i l l

    our scripture verse

    in

    that we

    wil l have given

    the young

    people

    of Maili to leam

    about

    Jesus

    Christ and get a great

    s ta r t

    in l i fe .

    My

    l i fe

    has

    been

    one of blessing because

    of

parents who gave me values and a

    b elief in

    God.

    I t

    is

also hoped that we wil l be able to reach

    many of our prospective

    students

    and

    their par

    e n ts f o r th e Church he r e t

    Mai l i .

    We

    have

    many obs tacles to overcome,

    but

    we feel

    that

    they

will be overcome because God s

    people

    were

in prayer and we will have

    the

    opportunity

    to

    share

    Christ

    with precious

    soiils

    that

    OOULD

    THIS

    BE YOli?

    Dear Johnny Carson:

    I

    am

    writing

    you

    because TV has

    become a

    sort

    of

    religion

    to

me. Instead of going to church

on Wednesday evenings and Sunday evenings, I

stay home and watch the tights, a class B

    Hollywood

    horror or Bonanza.

    Finally,

    instead

    of devotions, I

    relax

    with your program be

    fore

    going

    to

    bed.

    I t

    takes so

    l i t t l e

    effort

to listen to you and I never thing about my

sins watching your show as I do sometimes in

    c h u r c h

But Johnny, I have a problem.

    I m in th e

    hos

    pital now.

    I

    am ashamed

    to

    call

    the

    minister,

    because by staying

    at home I ve

    slapped him

    in

    the teeth every Wednesday and

    Sunday

    night.

    I ve

    said, in effect,

    What you have

    to say

    doesn t concern

    me.

    I

    don t even

    feel

    praying because

    I ve

    ignored

    God

    for a long

time. Is ther something you can do to help

    me

    in my present situation?

    If

    I

    die,

    will

    you

    make

    the

    final

    arrangements? Will you

    see

    that

    my

    soul

    gets

    to

    heaven?

    I f

    I do

    get well,

    you can be

    sure

    that I l l

    be faithfully in

    my

    place

    before

    the TV

    every night.
