The Brief
Having completed a number of major projects for Shoosmiths
Solicitors in Solent, Milton Keynes and Reading, Claremont
Group Interiors was further appointed by the law firm to
complete the design and build of their new office at Waterfront
House, part of the new Waterfront Plaza development in
Nottingham. As a key player in the Nottingham legal market for
over 20 years, and as one of the U.K’s fastest-growing law
firms, Shoosmiths was looking for new premises to house its
growing Nottingham team. Claremont was involved in the
project from the outset, conducting feasibility studies on behalf
of the client to test best building fit. As a result of this process,
Shoosmiths agreed a 10 year lease for the top four floors at
Waterfront House, totalling 31,500 square feet.

Following the completion of a number of
successful projects for Shoosmiths across
the U.K, Claremont Group Interiors was
appointed to complete the design & fit-out
for it’s Nottingham office at Waterfront
Plaza. The result is a workspace which
works hard to drive the company’s brand
values through everything they do.

The Result
Carol Light, firm-wide Facilities Manager at Shoosmiths, said:
“Shoosmiths live their brand values, with clients and employees
fully conversant with our culture and services which are an
inherent part of the brand. Shoosmiths believe it is imperative
that their fit-out consultants fully understand these values and
services and become part of the partnership in delivering
projects on time and to budget.” Deborah Gordon Brown, who
heads up Shoosmiths’ Nottingham office, said: "We are
delighted with the new offices. Our aim was to provide the
same high standard of client meeting facilities and brand
experience evident in our other offices - Waterfront house met
these criteria and was delivered on time and in budget. Having
worked with Claremont on various other projects, we know
they aim to provide elegant and accommodating interiors and
they have delivered on this yet again."
The Solution
The brief was to provide a smart, healthy and modern working
environment for Shoosmiths’ employees. In response to the
company’s integral belief in driving brand values through
everything they do, it was critically important for Claremont to
provide the same consistently high standard as had been
previously delivered. The agreed design not only continued the
corporate standard but also incorporated a sense of
individuality by highlighting the Nottingham team’s own client
base and corporate history. The bespoke design included a new
client suite to the top floor, seminar room with full
presentation and AV equipment, a staff café area, new
furniture throughout the open plan area, Comms. room, and a
post and facilties area; all carefully pulled together via the
implementation of a vibrant branding scheme throughout.
