What’s good?
WD-40’s chain wax has become a
go-to product for winter lubrication for
me. A coating every week or so has
resulted in zero corrosion on the chain
of my Suzuki V-Strom 650 and best of
all, the ‘outstanding anti-fling
properties’ WD-40 claim, seem to ring
true. A 400ml can lasted me the best
part of a year, which I was really
impressed with. I used to go through
chain lube like nothing else, but even in
the harshest and wettest conditions,
it’s lasting. With a normal lube, I’d find
myself having to re-apply after every
few rides. Not now.
What’s not?
It’s a bit pricier than the
average, but it does
last longer. The
product leaves a
white film over the
chain, which is what
protects it, but it
doesn’t look the
best. It takes quite a
bit of cleaning off,
but if you maintain
your chain regularly,
this isn’t a problem.
