treaters from the Child Care Center around campus. On

Parade Time: 10:00am – 12:30pm - Lehman College the day of the parade, if it is not raining, we will be

taking the children to the different departments and

offices on campus alongside the teachers at the Center.

There are 64 children in total and we would like as

many volunteers as possible.

Hands-on volunteer opportunity with the NYC Compost Project to accept pumpkins, gourds, jack-o-lanterns and help

participants smash them or sling them across the Lehman Quad. You can volunteer to help run the Smash Zone platform

and/or chop pumpkins in the Splash Zone down in the campus Quad. We will also need your help to give away free goodies

and refreshments to event attendees. Volunteer shirts and gloves will be provided, as needed.

The NYC Compost Project works to rebuild NYC’s soils by providing New Yorkers with the knowledge, skills, and opportunities

they need to make and use compost locally. NYC Compost Project programs are implemented by DSNY-funded teams at seven

TCS New York City Marathon

Lehman College takes over Mile 20 at the TCS NYC

Marathon! Join us as we support over 50,000 runners

and 340 charity partners at the only Bronx Fluid

Station!

The New York City Marathon is an annual marathon

that courses through the five boroughs of New York

City. It is the largest marathon in the world. The

marathon's charity program has raised nearly $200

million for hundreds of causes since it began a decade

ago. In 2015, 8,700 charity runners raised $33.9 million

on behalf of hundreds of not-for-profit organizations in

New York City and across the nation.

Only volunteers that registered with New York Road

Runners (NYRR) can volunteer at this event.

$5 for Students, $10 for Faculty, Staff and Community

Members.

The Leaders Involved for Everyone (Lehman L.I.F.E.)

alternative break community service-learning program

is designed to raise students’ awareness of issues and

needs existing in local and global communities, and to

foster effective action through volunteer work. Lehman

L.I.F.E. students must raise 100% of their program fees,

volunteer for at least 25 hours in our very own

community in order to even qualify to apply, learn

grassroots fundraising techniques and attend weekly

cross-cultural education training.

During the trip, the students partner with non-profit

organizations and their leaders to assist in local

community development. The cycle of service

continues and expands as students bring their

experiences back to benefit their own communities, in

the Bronx and the greater New York City area.

Catholic Charities Community Service

Able-bodied volunteers are needed directly after St. Nicholas Shopping Day activities for

Catholic Charities Community Services, Archdiocese of New York.

These volunteers are the backbone of the event for the success of delivering much-needed

winter items to our clients.

Volunteers at each site, will wait for the delivery truck (arrival times are below) and unload

large bags of clothing and other winter items and storing them in the corresponding

locations. Hand trucks may be available at certain sites.

There will be a Catholic Charities representative at each site to direct volunteers where to

store the bags.

10 – 12 volunteers are needed at the following locations and times:

The Acacia Network's vision of healthy communities is deeply connected to quality housing.

Their goal is to provide a safe and healthy environment for every individual combined with

opportunities for ownership. Their transitional housing covers 750 individual family units

and 3 buildings for 475 single adults. Their dedicated team works in collaboration with the

New York City Department of Homeless Services to return families and single adults to

permanent housing.
