Fincham car boot sales The car boot sales will take place on the last Sunday of the month, from noon to 3pm, in Fincham Memorial Hall and on the playing field, until September.
A message from our new Borough Councillor I would like to thank those who voted for me as the first Green Party Borough Councillor to be elected in West Norfolk. The Green Party in West Norfolk has seen its share of the vote in-crease dramatically in all the wards it has contested. We would like to see our community involved in making the decisions that affect our fu-ture and I will be working hard to voice the views of all those I represent in the Airfield Ward. As I am very new to Local Government, I am spending time attending local Parish Council meetings to gain a greater understanding of local issues, attending induction sessions at King’s Lynn and West Norfolk Borough Council offices, and working hard with the Green Party to come up with a plan for the next four years, to be the most effective Bor-ough Councillor possible. A part of my role will include sitting on the Regeneration and Environ-ment Committee and the Development Control Board. I also hope to hold regular surgeries in each of the five Parishes in Airfield Ward to en-able residents to voice their issues on a 1:1 basis. If you have any Bor-ough Council issues you would like to raise, please do not hesitate to contact me via Rachael Edwards (Democratic Services) King’s Court, Chapel Street, King’s Lynn, Norfolk PE30 1EX. Missing: two cats Two of our beautiful cats have gone missing: one male white tabby with a blue collar; one female black with a diamond-shaped white patch under her chin. Have you seen them, or taken them in thinking they were strays? Do you know if any cats have been killed on the roads, or shot? Please, if you know what has happened to our babies, can you phone us, even if they have been killed? It is terrible not knowing. Please, please phone Kathy and Lin on 01366 348074.

Useful Energy Information The twin challenges of climate change and peak oil require us to
reduce our dependence on fossil fuels at lightning speed. As if
this wasn’t enough, the economic crisis is forcing many into fuel
poverty and putting great pressure on the rest of us.
So where do we go from here?
Reducing our domestic heating bills is a really good start and the Centre for Sustainable Energy has some brilliant energy advice leaflets. http://www.cse.org.uk/pages/resources/energy-advice-leaflets
Visit George Marshall’s site to see how he and his wife! turned their 1930s ex-council house into their environmental dream home, reducing their energy consumption by two thirds without losing comfort or style. All done on a limited budget! http://theyellowhouse.org.uk/!
Generate your !"#$ %#%&'( with renewable energy technologies like wind turbines, solar panels and biomass heaters with financial support from the Government. The Energy Savings Trust has lots of useful information to get you started. http://www.energysavingtrust.org.uk/Generate-your-own-energy
Large amounts of our energy use, and therefore our carbon emissions, are )*++%#. We all notice how much petrol we put in our cars, but we don’t always see the CO2 that’s tied in to our everyday purchases. The Story of Stuff tells it like it is! http://www.youtube.com/storyofs
