Voice for the Stage presented by Travis Hennessy at the Launceston College Performing Arts Music Summer School 2013
Encore Theatre Company are delighted to announce that they have four (4) scholarship places available in this exciting 4-day workshop which challenges singers of all abilities and offers young and developing singers the chance to broaden their skills in musical theatre by providing detailed workshops on the art of singing. Meet Travis Hennessy Since graduating from the School of Visual and Performing Arts (UTAS) in 2004, Travis has been heavily involved in professional Theatre and Music, most notably with CentrStage Theatre Company and Mudlark Theatre Company Inc. Travis is currently the voice tutor at Launceston College in addition to teaching privately and at other Launceston Schools. In 2005 Travis was awarded the prestigious Country Club Tasmania Theatrical Development Award, and in 2008 Travis professionally toured a musical he co-wrote, Happy Me (formerly Letf of Centr), which drew high praise from audiences and critics alike. In 2010, Travis appeared in Boy’s Own McBeth, Les Misérables, The Pillowman and the original musical Dentures in Db and Cymbeline, which he also co-directed with CentrStage, One Day #7 with Mudlark Theatre Co. Inc., as well as assisting on Launceston College’s Back to the Eighties. Travis has recently been nominated for the Southern Cross Young Achiever of the Year Awards in the Arts Category and was played the role of Simon and was Co-Vocal Director for Encore’s Jesus Christ Superstar.
