community development since many years# *uring the year achievements as follows:

• &ro1ect unshine one of the most successful programs which is eing implemented since

9FFB has helped increase their income many fold#

o 9;,8@B (&5 farmers have enefited through the program y opting for mai"e,

tuver or cotton crops under the program#

o B8@8 farmers also received training#

• 6ive year Wadi pro1ect is eing implemented since 9FF covering 999 farmers# )t aims to

doule the income, introduce inter cropping, prevent forced migration and increase general

level of education among the community# )ntroduction of pot irrigation system has reduced

the mortality rate of the mango plants# *uring the year ;FF pots were distriuted in 8@Fwadis#

• 5ivelihood Enhancement Team, a three year pro1ect initiated in 9F88 in this area trains

and lin!s people connected with forestry to eco%friendly income generation activities y

organi"ing them in to elf Help /roups# *uring the year 89; new H/s were formed in =9villages# <8 memers of H/s from 99 villages were trained in capacity uilding and

s!ill training# Of these, ; groups have already started various usinesses activities# ;F@9

 people participated in medical camps organi"ed in ; villages#

• 3ute *iversification &rogram funded y .ational 3ute (oard, 0inistry of Textiles, /ovt#

of )ndia, aims to improve economic status of rural women through s!ill developmentresulting in economic independence# )n all 89F women elonging to 89 H/s in 'hhota

-depur loc! were trained#

• -nder Watershed *evelopment and /roup Well program, 9B 'hec! *ams, 8@ &acca

 .alas and ;F< /ully &lugs were constructed to increase water tale of @ irrigation wells#This will ma!e additional 9FB acres of land cultivale# ;F,FFF saplings were planted during

monsoon# <F Rooftop Rain Water Tan!s were also constructed#

to ensure that all the children etween the age of to 8; yrs are admitted to schools# The

 pro1ect is eing implemented in 8; villages of 'hhota -depur# *uring the year, ; layer child protection committees were formed# &arents were made aware of importance of education

and were lin!ed to additional income generation activities and government schemes#

dropout children from = villages were admitted to special training program#

• 8F entrepreneurs were trained to use modern farm e$uipment# under Agro Tool (an!%

Entrepreneurs program funded y Trial u &lan office 'hhota -depur# )t would help in

saving time and reduce drudgery Their total income during the year, was Rs# =,;B,@@J%#

-nder Agri mechani"ation program, @ Trial 6armers Organi"ations CT6OD were formed with

@F< memers# One 6ederation was also formed with 8; memers# 8@F@ farmers were provided services for 99;F hours through T6Os generating income of Rs# B,B@,B=J%#

• ama1 hilpi pro1ect was initiated y hroffs 6oundation Trust to train selected

individuals to ecome proactive in community development# This was achieved y providing

special training in dealing with the community on various aspects of development# *uringthe year, 9F enthusiastic young men from 'hhota -depur loc! were selected and trained for 

this purpose#

• chool 2i!as amitis were formed in 8F schools of 'hhota -depur, under chool

upport &rogram# 2arious extracurricular activities were organi"ed to emphasi"e onimportance of festivals, sports and cleanliness# Elocution competitions were organi"ed for

the children# 'hildren and teachers were motivated to attend the schools regularly# -nder

5iteracy 'ampaign, 9FF women from @ villages were made literate#

various issues related to agriculture, safe drin!ing water, soil and water conservation, health and

&rogram as well as has supported &ani amitis and local schools#

• 'HA./E%'ommunication for Health Advocacy in .RH0 /rassroots Empowerment

 program is eing implemented in villages of &adra loc! since 9F8F with an aim to

strengthen the aility of rural communities to access $uality pulic health services y using participatory communication techni$ues# *uring the year, =FF health wor!ers were given

information aout the pro1ect through a *engue wor!shop# sta!e holders were ta!en on days exposure visit to an ./O in 4hed (rhma# 9F Asha wor!ers were trained for the rd

 phase of the program#

• )4EA%-.)'E6 funded pro1ect to prevent child laor, protect children>s right to education

in cotton fields and to ensure schooling for all the children under the age of 8; was

implemented in 9F villages of &adra talu!a# *uring the year, 9F children>s groups were

formed with 8=B memers of whom ;9 were trained for leadership# 'hild protection

committees were formed in 8F villages# 9@ participants were trained through 9 programs#*uring 'R' wee! 9F awareness programs were organi"ed and 9@ families were lin!ed with

government schemes for enefits#

• 5in! wor!ers program is eing implemented since 9F8F in 98 villages of &adra talu!a, to

create H)2JA)* awareness# 2arious aspects of H)2JA)* li!e transmission, ris!y ehavior, prevention are included in the program# Wide use of condom is eing promoted as well as

compassionate ehavior towards affected people is eing advocated# All pregnant women are

 eing tested for H)2# Through Kouth )nformation 'enters, the program has received impetus#

• 'apacity uilding of farmers through &articipatory )rrigation 0anagement &rogram was

underta!en in collaoration with ardar arovar .igam 5td# to help farmers increase the

crops yield, minimi"e the expenses and manage and maintain the water distriution system in

9F villages of &adra talu!a# *uring the year 8FB farmers were made memers, su%

committees were formed in villages to manage day to day administration# &ani amitimemers and farmers received guidance on related issues through 9 loc! level seminars#

• With a view of supporting &ani amitis in completing the unfinished wor! under afe

*rin!ing Water program and supporting schools to improve the $uality of education, it wasdecided to intervene in five villages through E!alara 'enter# The aim was also to ensure

8FFL attendance of school going children# This was done y conducting 8< meetings with

888 memers of ; &ani amitis and wor! was completed in coordination with water

department# 8<< children were admitted to schools ringing the total to 8FFL attendance#This was achieved through 8 parent teacher meetings where leaders of the villages were

also present# 'hildren were also exposed to scientific methods of procuring clean drin!ing

water, various methods of rain water harvesting and importance of saving environment#

• *uring the year, (reed 'onservation &rogram for urti uffaloes was initiated in 8B

villages of &adra loc!, with the support of /u1arat 5ivestoc! *evelopment (oard# 9@

 uffaloes were provided with artificial insemination under the pro1ect#
