SI®/PAM System for the IT-supported maintenance of technical installations.

2

Maintenance supported by IT

creates transparency and opti-

mizes the operational procedures.

3

The system by the name of SI®/PAM is the next generation of the SI® system that has been tried and tested for years. Above all, it convinces by its user-friendliness and flexibility – in a completely new look and as a very lean solu-tion. SI®/PAM is practically oriented and provides the user with appreciable improvements in their daily working processes.

Today, all industrial enterprises face the challenge to con-front the increased requirements of the market. Therefore it is essential to make full use of the potentials of the own enterprise and to design the operating procedures to be as efficient as possible.

STEAG Energy Services GmbH has realized that the ob-jectives resulting from this make demands on the opera-tion of technical installations that can only be met by an IT-supported maintenance.

Experiences from previous years have also shown that the tasks in various industries like e.g. wind energy, bio-mass plants, and facility management are very similar.

Wherever technical installations are operated, it is neces-sary to optimize the steps from the design via the control all the way to documenting the working processes.

4

The benefits of SI®/PAM at a glance

5

· Efficient and comfortable user guidance

· Transparent representation of business processes

· Individual requirements can be implemented quickly and easily

· Simplification and more efficient design of procedures and processes

· Legally compliant

· Reliable provision of data

· Can be applied in many industries

· Optional use of standards like KKS, RDS-PP, plant data plan according to VGB R171

· Short project durations for the introduction of SI®/PAM due to

- the supply of pre-confi gured systems

- easy adjustment to your processes (i.e. project-specifi c features can usually be implemented quickly without programming effort due to the fl exible confi gurability)

- fast and fl exible evaluations of the data

SI®/PAM is a modular system.

Each user possesses an own personal information box that functionally resembles an electronic mailbox. All infor-mation relevant to the user will be delivered to their infor-mation box.

With the help of this information hub, the user is always up-to-date concerning all events in the system relevant to them and can immediately react to all processes. The in-formation box has the following features:

• Proactive information on upcoming tasks and relevant event log entries

• Direct access to the processing step

• Automated determination of the correct recipients according to diverse criteria (e.g. plant, plant category, type of work, value limits)

• Escalation of exceeded deadlines according to theorganizational structure stored in SI®/PAM

The module “Information box”

Unexpected events and information that requires logging are stored in the event log.

In addition, the module can be used by various groups of persons for all kinds of logs, shift logs, damage re-ports, or recordings of events.

• Any desired number of event logs can be set up.

• Any desired number of message types per event log can be defi ned.

• Freely defi nable data fi elds for each message type

• Secure documentation

• Time limit for subsequent changes per event log can be confi gured.

• Limitation of changes to the original author can bedefi ned.

• Integration of external data sources for automaticdata transfer, like e.g.

- Alarm reports from the DCS- Automated weighing- Effi cient evaluation options

The module “Event log”

SI®/PAM is a modular software

solution that allows to handle

a large variety of requirements

already in its standard scope of

the system. Project-specifi c requi-

rements can usually be confi gured

with little effort.

8

The module “Tasks” will help you not to forget any activi-ties. In particular, it allows you to control and later prove the execution of activities required by law. But all other jobs to be executed regularly are represented as tasksin the list of recurring items as well.

The module „Tasks“ has the following features:

· Freely configurable

· Any desired number of task types can be defined with freely definable work flows.

· Recurring items control the automatic generation of pe riodic tasks.

· Deadline strategy and lead time are the main control parameters.

· Responsibilities are determined dynamically according to configurable rules

· Possible cases of application are e.g.

- complying with offi cial requirements - preventive maintenance measures - inspection rounds - regular (refresher) training courses

The plant index represents all component parts of the plant in a clear tree diagram.

Each element of the tree diagram receives an unambi-guous name (key). The features of the plant index can be described as follows:

· Flexible structure

· Any desired hierarchical structure can be selected.

· Systematic encryption, e.g. according to KKS or RDS-PP can be used.

· Naming at will is possible, too.

· Component parts of the plant belonging to different categories can be distributed into own “tabs“.

· Freely definable attributes

· Direct access to all important data (documents, event logs, tasks, recurring items, …)

The module “Plant index”

11

12

· Documents can be added to any object.

· Multiple linking of documents with different object types (e.g. plants, tasks, event log entries, …) is easily possible.

· Document types with corresponding metadata can be freely configured.

· Storing the documents in the database improves security and simplifies handling.

· Full-text search via metadata and document content

· Linking with documents outside of SI®/PAM is easily possible as well.

SI®/PAM comes with a fi eld-tested standard confi guration and is adjusted to your requirements in the context of the project execution.

If you make subsequent adjustments to the confi guration e.g. in order to use SI®/PAM for new tasks, your admini-strators will be guided through the necessary steps by the “wizard” function of SI®/PAM.

The module “Administration”

The latest plant documentation is immediately available in SI®/PAM, ranging from technical drawingsto “simple” pictures of damages.

It makes sense to install the basic modules in the following order to ensure an optimal project work fl ow:

· Plant index· Event log· Document management· Tasks· Recurring items

Many years of experience by STEAG Energy Services have shown that the following services should be rendered when introducing a system:

1. At the beginning of the project, the customer’s require-ments are gathered in the context of a workshop.

2. The system is pre-confi gured together with the users. Further requirements can be recorded here.

3. STEAG Energy Services carries out the detailed confi -guration.

4. All required data from other systems (e.g. MS Excel) are imported.

5. The fi ne tuning of the system is started during test operation.

6. All users are trained.

7. The system is deployed.

In this way, the foundation for a long-term, successful operation is laid.
