NOTICE: SLEWRC APPROVES EDSA's PROPOSED TARIFF STRUCTURE EFFECTIVE 1st DECEMBER 2019

Members of the Sierra Leone Electricity and Water Regulatory Commission (SLEWRC) Board have on Thursday 31st October 2019 in a resolution meeting, approved the tariff structure for the various classes of customers in the proposed Electricity Distribution and Supply Authority (EDSA) 2019 tariff application.

The decision was taken in fulfillment of Section 45 (1) of the SLEWRC Act, 2011 which states "no public utility shall demand or receive any rate for the service it provides unless the rate chargeable for the service has been approved by the Commission".

The approval which takes effect 1st December 2019 comes in the wake of a public hearing organized in October 2019 by the Commission wherein stakeholders, energy focused group and the general public were invited to the presentation of EDSA's proposed tariff structure by its Management.

This was followed by a thorough review of the said tariff structure by EWRC's Economic Regulations Department and Members of its Board after which an approval was arrived at based on the structure below:
