SIFE students leverage their class-room experience, the expertise of their faculty advisor and business advisory board, and the resources of their university to develop projects that empower people to live better lives.

The result is a program that is global in scope and purpose with the flex-ibility and responsiveness of a community-based organization.

Their projects address a variety of topics, such as market economics, entrepreneurship, financial literacy, personal success skills, environmental sustainability and business ethics. Rather than mandating a uniform set of projects, teams are encouraged to work within the framework of these topics while adapting their approach to the diverse needs of people in different communities. They help aspiring entrepreneurs achieve success, equip the unemployed with skills to find productive employ-ment, teach families how to gain financial security, and bring economic development to struggling neighborhoods.

Community Programs

Our leadership and career initia-tives are designed to foster an environment for personal and professional development among the participants as the placement of students and alumni with com-panies that support SIFE.

The SIFE program prepares university students for the real world by challenging them to address real world problems today. As SIFE students go about the process of organizing their team, devel-oping community outreach projects and participat-ing in a series of competitive events, they develop teamwork, leadership and communication skills that set them apart from the average university student. It’s the reason so many top companies have identified SIFE as a leading source of effective, responsible business talent.

Our career connections initiatives are intended to enhance the connection between SIFE students and alumni and SIFE donor compa-nies. These initiatives are typically organized at the national level, and depending on the country, involve a variety of activities such as career fairs held in conjunction with SIFE events, online job postings, career publications and other exclusive content and resources.

SIFE is an international non-profit organization that works with leaders in business and higher education to mobilize university students to make a difference in their communities while devel-oping the skills to become socially responsible business leaders. Participating students form teams on their university campuses and apply business concepts to develop outreach projects that improve the quality of life and standard of living for people in need. An annual series of regional and national competitions provides a forum for teams to present the results of their projects, and to be evaluated by business leaders serving as judges. National champion teams advance to the prestigious SIFE World Cup. In addition to the community aspect of the program, SIFE’s leadership and career initiatives create meaningful opportunities for learning and exchange among the participants as well as the placement of students and alumni with companies in search of emerging talent.
