SENIOR CENTERS Through its Senior Centers, the Department offers a host of recreational fitness and advocacy programs and a wide variety of activities for the community’s senior population, including speakers, day trips, Bingo, exercise programs, various health screening programs, holiday parties, legal services, and senior advocacy programs. For a full list of the programs offered, please call your local center. Nutrition programs are also available at the centers for a suggested contribution. Check with each center for a meal schedule. ICE SKATINGThe City of Syracuse’s Department of Parks, Recreation & Youth Programs operates the skating rinks at Meachem and Sunnycrest Parks and ClintonSquare. Meachem and Sunnycrest, both of which are enclosed rinks, will be open November 1, 2006 to March 31, 2007. Clinton Square rink is anopen-air facility and will be open November 25, 2006 to March 1, 2007 weather permitting. All three rinks have warming room facilities.
