A report on GEDA workshop for “Energy conservation awareness” held on 09.09.2015

The Mechanical Engg.Dept. of Silver Oak Group of Institutes had organized a active workshop in

association with GEDA (GUJARAT ENERGY DEVELOPMENT AGENCY) on “Energy conservation

awareness” on 09.09.2015 between 10:00 am to 4:15 pm at Millennium Hall. On behalf of GEDA Mr.

Pravit parikh and Mr. Revin Sojitra has conducted interactive session with help of faculties.

Around 100 students of 7th semester mechanical and 70 Faculty members of SOCET as well as ASOIT

were benefited and aware for energy conservation. The information was shared by GEDA people on

below topics.

Current scenario of available sources and consumption of energy in India.

Why saving of electricity is now necessary.

Gave information about energy efficient house appliances like CFL, LEDs etc.

Measuring parameters of electricity.

Comparative data analysis of households like Bulb, Tube light, Fan, TV, Refrigerator, AC etc.

Electricity Tariffs and Bill analysis for Residential as well as commercial.

Energy audits and its systematic approach.

Operational analysis of domestic and industrial electrical appliances.

Detail working parameters and ratings of Pump, Motors, Compressors, Dryers, Refrigerators,

Blowers, cooling tower etc.

Power factor and its improvement processes.

Some case studies & statistic of Industries for energy conservation like GNFC, SUMUL dairy,

Hindustan Lever, Asian Granito, National Aluminium, Dalmia Cement, Adani Power, Infosys

etc.

IS standards and BEE standards for ratings.

The workshop was end up with the certificate distribution to the participants.
