    Past Tense

    Simple Past Tense (simple past tense) is a form of time used to describe events or actions

    undertaken at certain times in the past in a simple form. Time of occurrence of events or actions

    that have been known.

    1.Verbal Sentences

    The general formula is the form of Simple Past Tense:

    (+) Subject + V2

    (-) Subject + did + not + V1

    (?) Did + Subject + V1?

    Example:

    1. (+) He Studied English last night.(He learned English last night)

    (-) He did not study English last night.(He did not learn English last night)

    (?) Did he study English last night?

    (Did he learn English last night?)

    To phrase the question as the answer Yes, .... (yes) or No. .... (not)Answer:

    Yes, he did, or No, he did not

    2. (+) We went to Bangkok last year.

    (We went to Bangkok last year.)(-) We did not go to Bangkok last year.

    (We did not go to Bangkok last year.)(?) Did we go to Bangkok last year?

    (Are we went to Bangkok last year?)

    3. (+) I wrote a letter yesterday.

    (I wrote a letter yesterday.)

    (-) I did not write a letter yesterday.(I did not write a letter yesterday.)

    Description:

    - On the positive sentence used the verb form of the second (V2) can be found on the post

    Irregular and Regular Verb.

    - To form a negative verbal sentence should be added that the auxiliary verb "did" which is thepast tense of do / does which further added notes.

    - Did it can be used for a subject.

    2. Negative nominal sentence patterns used are:

    For subjects We, You, They:

    Subject + were + not + Non Verb

    For subjects I, He, She, It:Subject + was + not + Non Verb

    Example:

    Present Tense

    Present tense is the tense used to express an action or activity that takes place / happening at the

    current time in a simple form, activity or work performed repeatedly, daily habits, events or

    actions that have nothing to do with time, and to express a general truth.

    Simple Present Tenseusing a type of "To be 1" and " Verb 1"

    IMPORTANT:Only the positive sentences, for the subject " He, She, It" ,the use of the verb (VERB)must end

    with "s / es."The addition of "s / es"at the base verb (inifinitive)is as follows:

    In general, the verb is directly coupled with the suffix "-s",for example:

    Write - Writes

    Speak - Speaks

    Verbs ending in the letter "ch, o, s, sh, x"plus the suffix "- ice",for example:

    Pass - PassesFinish - FinishesTeach - Teaches

    Fix - Fixes

    Verbs that end with the letter "-y"and begins with a consonant,the suffix "-y"changed to "-

    i"then added "- ice",for example:Study - Studies

    While the verb ending with the letter "-y"which begins with vowels, pretty coupled with the

    suffix "-s"only, for example:

    Say - Says

    If the verb begins with the letter auxiliary verb (Modal Auxiliaries),then do not get the extra "s/es",for example:

    Simple Present Tense function on verbal sentenceDeclare an act which becomes a habit or done at certain times (Habitual Action),for example:We study hard everyday.

    Stating a general truth or fact, or a truth that is assumed to occur continuously mnerus (The

    General Truth),for example:

    A year has twelve months.

    The sun rises in the East.

    Expressing Simple Present Tensesentences that do not use the verb (Non VERB)

    Simple Present Tense function at nominal sentence

    To declare a state of ongoing current or present, or acts that constitute a habit, for example:

    I am a teacher.

    They are here now.

    To express a general truth, but in this nominal sentence does not use time information, for

    example:Ice is cold.

    Fire is hot.

    Specification for the Simple Present Tense times used are: Every hour, every minute, every morning, everyday, in the morning, once a week, on Sunday, at

    five o'clock and so on.
