SAP API Business Hub enables you to search, discover, experience, and consume APIs from SAP and select partners for your digital transfor-mation projects. The hub includes: • Integration with a public catalog of APIs: This catalog is provided in SAP Business Suite applications, line-of-business (LoB) applications from SAP, SAP S/4HANA®, and SAP Cloud Platform. Also included in the hub are business services, such as data quality, globalization services, and machine learning, as well as APIs from our partner ecosystem. These include standardized documentation in the OpenAPI specification for integration and application developers.

• An API sandbox: The sandbox lets integration and application developers try out APIs and learn how to use them without having to sign up for each individual application and solution. Developers can use the APIs to connect to their own environments from the sandbox and test against these environments.

Centrally Manage APIsThe API Management capability of SAP Cloud Platform Integration Suite supports full lifecycle management of APIs. You can securely provide access to your data and integrations as easy-to-consume APIs with defined security and access policies. In addition, you can publish the APIs to developer portals with your branding, delivering easy-to-understand APIs in the OpenAPI format. You can even monetize APIs and establish marketplaces.

Enterprise users across different lines of business and industries can use this capability to manage APIs in the following scenarios and more: • Omnichannel and mobile access across mobile apps, kiosks, and retail outlets

• Open real-time integration, for example, for B2B collaborations driven through APIs

• Data access governance and monetization when organizations need to safely expose data externally and internally

Cloud Integration Automation ServiceThe Cloud Integration Automation service provides a unified solution for the integration of business scenarios spanning SAP applications. It automates configurations – for example, by inte-grating any SAP application with SAP S/4HANA, SAP SuccessFactors® solutions, or SAP Concur® solutions.

As illustrated in Figure 6, the Cloud Integration Automation service automates the integration configuration, simplifies the parameterization, and orchestrates the scenario integrations you need. SAP Cloud Platform Integration Suite frees cen-tral IT to move into a more sustainable, scalable role. This role can focus on fostering LoB-driven integration across the business, defining the guardrails for integration by departments and teams, and supporting greater self-sufficiency and agility across the business. Your people gain a comprehensive suite of integration tools and prebuilt content, including templates and guided integrations that help ensure the success of your distributed integration resources across the enterprise.

ENABLE SELF-SERVICE WHILE MANAGING GOVERNANCEThe suite facilitates dynamic and self-service integration by providing intuitive tooling to empower different skill sets, from specialists to citizen developers (business users) and ad hoc integrators (such as developers, business analysts, and data scientists). It also leverages SAP’s business and technology expertise to offer you a wealth of prepackaged content and services that accelerate time to results.

SIMPLIFY AND OPTIMIZE INTEGRATIONSAP simplifies the implementation and mainte-nance of integration through an AI-enabled Integration Advisor capability. The Integration Advisor is designed to simplify interface imple-mentation for application-to-application and business-to-business scenarios, to learn continuously, and to reduce integration efforts by 60% or more.

It achieves this by enabling you to intelligently build and maintain integration content using an intelligent content management system that includes a complete data dictionary for integration. This includes SAP metadata models of APIs such as service-oriented architecture, OData, and IDoc

and international standards, as well as a repository of implementation guidelines for interfacing different systems – both SAP and third party.

The Integration Advisor also delivers crowd-sourcing capabilities for business-oriented interfaces and mappings. Machine learning helps deliver integration proposals for jump-starting your projects without the need for deep domain knowledge. The built-in central integration knowledge base is where all crowdsource-based learnings from interface customizations and mappings are stored, along with international and SAP standards. The knowledge base uses community collaboration for creating and maintaining tailored integration interfaces and mappings.

Using these features, the Integration Advisor can automatically generate documentation and runtime artifacts. You specify integration require-ments such as message types, source and target systems, countries, and industry. As shown in Figure 7, the Integration Advisor then automatically generates the documentation, mapping guide-lines, runtime artifacts, and validation rules needed to integrate the respective systems. The runtime artifacts can be executed on either SAP Cloud Platform Integration Suite or SAP Process Orchestration.

SIMPLIFY LIFECYCLE MANAGEMENTWith transport management support, you can take a DevOps approach to developing integrations that gives you the ability to organize integration artifacts into transports and move integrations from development to production using a managed and governed process. Additionally, you can con-figure alert notifications regarding failures and successful processing, such as when a high-value invoice has been approved.

MIGRATE ON-PREMISE ASSETS TO THE CLOUDWith SAP Cloud Platform Integration Suite, you can follow best practices to safely and securely move existing integration scenarios according to your preferred schedule. The suite easily connects to SAP Process Orchestration so you can import mapping and service interfaces. This reduces the effort to migrate scenarios to the

cloud and lets you realize key cloud benefits such as lower operational costs, deployment choice, flexible configuration options, and regular platform updates.

In addition, you can develop and migrate new scenarios over time – or even develop scenarios in the cloud – and then deploy them to SAP Process Orchestration. You can even use them together in hybrid scenarios. For example, you can use the suite’s API Management capability to control authentication and secure the message flow of APIs in the cloud that are provided by SAP Process Orchestration on premise.
