It is with great pride that DSE, MBA(IB) announcesthe successful completion of the Final Placementprocess for the Class of 2017-19. Once again thissuccessful endeavor is a reflection of the academicrigor at the institute along with the outstandingaptitude and quality of the students.

Through the years, recruiters from the world'sleading organizations have consistently reposedimmense confidence in the exceptional capabilitiesof the students of MBA(IB).

Our average salary for the 2017-2019 batch hasgone up significantly. The process has beenfacilitated by the availability of a diverse pool ofstudents for the variety of profiles offered by thecompanies across different domains. Transparencyin the entire process made it possible that thestudents and recruiting companies had theopportunity to meet the mutual aspirations andexpectations.

This continuous success can be attributed to ourillustrious faculty and distinguished alumni whosebacking and strong conviction led to one of themost successful Final Placements in the recent past.We are immensely obliged to all the people whoseefforts have made this process a new benchmark forsuccess.

Each year, DSE lays emphasis on hosting a batch ofstudents from various academic backgrounds. Thisyear saw students enrolling from Arts, Commerce,Science and Engineering backgrounds.

Students are not only from varied educationalbackgrounds, but also have extensive knowledgeabout various industry sectors, owing to the factthat they have worked in sectors like Automotive,FMCG/D, Retail, BFSI, E-commerce, Energy andPower, Manufacturing, Media, Telecom andIT/ITES sector, making the batch extremelydiverse. There has been a miscellany of freshers andexperienced professionals with an average workexperience of 17 months.

Sales and Marketing continued to remain the preferredoption on campus and offered the highest number of jobprofiles to the students. Out of 88 profiles offered, 35 werein Sales and Marketing. Apart from legacy recruiters in theBFSI and Automobile sector, sales/marketing roles wereoffered by the Consulting, Research Advisory andManufacturing sectors. Over the past few years, DSE has seen a great increasein the number of people interested in Finance as aspecialization. Industry leaders such as CITI, HDFCBank, Darashaw reiterated their faith in DSE byoffering multiple profiles.

The General Management function sawindustry leaders like NIIT, Schindler Electric.In strategy function, niche profiles were offeredby companies such as MuSigma, Box 8, Odessa,GPTW, Impendi Analytics for their covetedstrategy role.

Segregation of 88 profiles offered on campus

Breaking the trend this year, students at DSE received agreater number of offers in Research and Consulting rolesas compared to last year. There was a significant increasein the number of students placed in such roles. Overall 12profiles were offered in Research and Consulting. Researchprofiles were offered by companies like Gartner, Kantar,ANZ Bank. Consulting roles were offered by Michael Page,GPTW.

Continuing the trend of last few years, companiesrecruited in large numbers from DSE for the productand operations role. Participation of marquee firmssuch as Oppo, Vivo, Gartner, Newgen, SpandanaSphoorty and others reaffirmed our strong associationwith the organizations. Overall 11 profiles were offeredin Product and Operations.

In addition to the domestic profiles, this year studentswere offered multiple roles in international business.Firms such as Metaflex, Relaxo and Trafigura offered IBroles. Students were offered diverse set of roles includingCommodity trading in Metal and Oil, ManagementTrainee- Sales & Business Development – Exports.Highest compensation of INR 16.25 LPA was alsooffered in International Business profile by Trafigura,showing faith of the global leading firms in the talent

pool at DSE.

Delhi School of Economics

The eminent business acumen of MBA- IB students inAutomobile and Manufacturing sector have caught theeye of various recruiters. This has resulted in acommensurate steep increase in the number of rolesoffered to students in this sector. This year, 6companies were from Automobile and Manufacturingsector. These prestigious companies offered covetedprofiles such as MT – Sales & Marketing, TerritoryManager – Sales, EAVP, Commodity Trading. 4 out ofthe 6, were first time recruiters.

This year the placement season saw a significantparticipation of the FMCD and E-commerce sector.Companies like Oppo, Vivo, Relaxo were from FMCD andfrom E-commerce, Shopclues and Box8 participated infinal placements at DSE. These prestigious companiesoffered profiles such as MT – Category Management,Marketing, Sales, Product Trainee. Strategy roles were alsooffered by Box 8 and Explorars.
