FROM THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTORFROM THE DIRECTOR

I love getting to spend part of my summer at GCT! Thank you to Eric, Cheryl, and Dan for the opportunity.

What a joy it has been to bring this classic show to life on GCT’s stage! The young people in this cast have been hard working and good humored, and they are singing and dancing (tapping!) their hearts out. Thanks to each one of them for their commitment to excellence.

Special thanks to our production crew. They have made us look good, made sure that we are not in the dark, built sofas and lamp posts, and a myriad of other things. The “magic” of

theatre is really hard work! Thanks also to Tammy Holt, who helps the performers sound so great, and to Leah Barrett, who has given them such inventive choreography to do. Finally, thank you to Allison Miller, Stage Manager extraordinaire, and Molly Waugh, Assistant Stage Manager. These two ladies have been indispensable.

Finally, thanks to you for supporting live theatre in our community and, specifically, for your support of GCT. Please join us for the other wonderful shows that are coming up this season.

Get ready for some “Singin’ in the Rain!”

Julie Reinbold Director

Well, friends, welcome back to GCT for the opening of our 47th season! The 46th was one of the best seasons the theatre has seen in a very long time. Attendance was up and in fact sellouts were the norm for some shows. We made some improvements to the theatre, secured increased funding from the city, and welcomed so many wonderful friends back to the theatre.

Now, as we jump into 2018-19, we hope to continue all of this wonderful momentum. We’ve got more plans in store for improving the lobby. We’ve put together an incredibly

entertaining season. And we continue to make operational improvements in order to provide an excellent customer experience. Consider joining in the fun by purchasing a Season Membership today.

One of the changes we are really excited about this year is including the youth shows in the regular season line-up. We want all of our patrons to see how talented the next generation of performing artists are, and to be proud and enthused about how GCT is grooming and shaping these wonderful performers. This show, along with It’s a Wonderful Life, are sure to entertain! We hope you will like this tweak to the line-up this season and again, it’s just another great reason to consider becoming a Season Member.

Now, sit back and relax, enjoy this performance, and be sure to tell your friends!

WHO'S WHO WHO'S WHO

ELIZABETH LUTER (Dora Bailey) is excited to make GCT debut with Singin’ in the Rain. She is a 5rd grader at Dogwood Elementary who enjoys ballet, tap, playing the piano, and traveling. Elizabeth has previously appeared onstage in

The Lion King, Jr, A Christmas Carol, A Christmas Story, Oliver!, My Son Pinocchio, Cinderella, and The Little Mermaid Jr.

ROBERT FERGUSON (Don Lockwood) Robert Ferguson is no stranger to The Germantown Community Theatre as he appeared in The Sound of Music (Max Detweiler) last summer and in Alice in Wonderland (The Mad Hatter) in 2014. Robert is

definitely feeling nostalgic spending another summer working with Julie Reinbold as she introduced him to the vast terrain of theatre in The Velveteen Rabbit (The Boy) in 2008, Robert’s first musical. Robert has also participated in shows in Houston High School including 2017’s HSMTA’s Outstanding Overall Production winner 42nd Street (Oscar) and Curtains (Oscar). Robert is also deeply honored to portray this iconic role, originally played by Gene Kelly, and hopes to bring elements of the iconic performance and a different uniqueness/perspective to the role. And he wishes thanks to Julie Reinbold, Allison Miller, Leah Barrett, Molly Waugh, and countless others for their loving support.

LEAH BARRETT (Choreographer) is thrilled to return to choreograph another wonderful production at GCT! She has choreographed many productions, such as Music Man Jr., Getting to know the Sound of Music, Honky Tonk Angels, and multiple summer

camps here at GCT, as well as You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown! at Ridgeway High School. She has trained the last 16 years in several styles of dance and began her own dance studio in Midtown, Fall of 2016. She is excited to return to GCT onstage as Sister Mary Leo in Nunsense this September. Enjoy the show!

MOLLY WAUGH is a rising senior at Houston High School, where she is involved in theatre, yearbook editor, and co-president of Student Impact. Molly most recently played Sasha in Curtains at HHS. This is her 6th show at GCT, and she is excited to have a role

backstage this time. Molly wants to thank God for this blessing and congratulate this lovely cast and crew on a great show!

TAYLOR ANN CARPENTER (Ensemble) will be a Jr at ECS. Where Singing in the Rain jr is her debut performance at GCT, she is no stranger to the stage. In May, Taylor Ann had the opportunity to perform on the Orpheum stage with ECS for their

nomination of Best Overall Production for their production of Thoroughly Modern Millie. She has also performed at the Harrell Theatre with CAC’s performance of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat, which was her second appearance of this show the first being at Evangelical Christian School. Taylor Ann has also been seen in various productions with NDCT including Legally Blond jr. (Mrs Winthrop & Ensemble), DooWop Wed Riding Hood (Grandmother) & Twinderealla (Billie Jean). Also on the ECS stage, she has performed in such shows as High School Musical 2 (Sharpett), Shrek (Ensemble), Little Mermaid jr (Ensemble). Thank you to everyone who made this show a success. We could not have done it without our wonderful producers, directors, costumer, cast and crew. You have all made my debut with Germantown Community Theatre an awesome experience. I would also like to thank my vocal coach Bob Westbrook at Bob Westbrook Entertainment for continuing to help me grow.

LILY BETH CARPENTER (Ensemble) is going into the 7th grade at ECS. This is her debut role at GCT. Lily Beth has had the opportunity to perform with NDCT performances of Leagally Blonde (ensemble) and Twinderealla (Tailor). She has also been seen in

the ECS Middle School performance of Annie jr (orphan) and has also had the privilege of being in

their High School performance of Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat (Children’s Choir). Thanks Julie Reinbold & Mrs Holt and the rest of the cast and crew of Singing in the Rain Jr. for the wonderful experience. Thank you Mr Bob Westbrook for being such a great vocal coach. I also want to thank my Mom and Dad for all the support & encouragement and Taylor Ann for all the fun we’ve had driving to rehearsals.

ALLISON MARIE MILLER is so thrilled to be stage managing her second show at GCT. Growing up, she spent summers here with Ms. Julie at camp and is so thankful to be working with her again. Allison is a rising junior at Marymount Manhattan College in NYC

where she is pursuing a BFA in Acting with a double minor in Drama Therapy and Arts for Communities. She sends much love to the cast and would like to thank Ms. Julie, Molly, Leah, Megan, and everyone at GCT for welcoming her back home.

OFRI NAHUM (Ensemble) is a senior at Houston High School. She has previously lived in Israel and has performed there with some local theaters as well as with the Houston high school theater. She also helped direct some of the shows she has been a part of. When

she is not performing she enjoys hanging out with her friends and is currently a counselor in a summer camp. Singing in the Rain Jr. would be her first musical and she would like to thank the whole cast and crew for giving her that amazing opportunity. Thank you so much!

ANNIE HOLLEY (Chorus #3, Ensemble) is a sophomore at Houston High School. She has previously performed with GCT, SDP, Theatre Memphis, Harrell Theatre and Houston High School. When she is not performing, she enjoys drawing, painting, singing,

and hanging out with her friends and family. She is excited to be part of another GCT show and she would like to thank the cast, crew, directing team, and her voice teacher David Schnell.

EMMA HOLLEY (Kathy Selden) is a senior at Houston High School. Her recent roles include Phyllis Dale in 42nd Street at Houston High School, Brenda in Stage Door Production’s Hairspray, and Peg Prentice in Curtains at Houston High School.

While living in Tennessee she has performed with GCT, SDP, Harrell Theatre and Houston High School. She previously lived in San Diego where she preformed with CYT and the San Diego Junior Theatre. Other than preforming, she enjoys playing on the Houston High School tennis team. She would like to thank the Singing in the Rain Jr. artistic team and her vocal coach David Schnell.

VICTORIA LINDOW is a homeschooled 7th grader who has had a wonderful time preparing for this performance with a great cast! This is her fifth show on the GCT stage and as always, is very thankful to Ms. Julie, all the crew at GCT and her family for

this opportunity. In addition to acting, Victoria enjoys horseback riding, soccer, playing with her pets and guitar.

JASON LINDOW is a 4th grade homeschool student. This is Jason’s second show with GCT (along with several Fairy Tale Trail shows) and he has enjoyed every bit of preparing for this performance. Jason would like to thank Ms. Julie and GCT for

this great opportunity and Ms. Leah for turning an impromptu moment into something fun! Jason also enjoys soccer, taking care of all his animals and going camping.
