5 Searching for Instructors and Teaching Assistants

5.1 The different ways to search for Instructors and Teaching Assistants

There are a few different ways to narrow your search when searching for your TAs and

Instructors:

Set department and or Group/Role filter

Search by Employee ID, Last Name, or Fist Name. Typing in the search box will

search against all three fields, so enter a value appropriate for one field (ex. If you

are looking for “Bob Smith”, just search “Bob” or “Smith”. “Bob Smith” will search

for the whole value in the Last Name and First Name, so it will not match who you

are searching for.

Reorder Employee ID, Last Name, or First Name in ascending or descending order

by clicking on the header

Expand column width

Move columns around by clicking and dragging

8 Assigning Duties to Teaching Assistants and Instructors

8.1 There are a few points you need to be aware of when assigning duties to Teaching

Assistants and Instructors:

Duties should be assigned to the TA or Instructor based on department duty

defaults and or known duty information

TA SCL1 and TA SCL2 are mutually exclusive, meaning you can only select one of

these options.

If someone is both an Instructor and TA, you will be prompted to choose a role

(Instructor or TA)

Instructor “Teaching” Duty is assigned automatically when the assignment comes

from Scientia. It cannot be assigned or unassigned in SISC

For duty definitions and permission mappings, please click on the <Duty Info>

button
