SisterHouse Financial Statements
SisterHouse is tax exempt under Section 501(c)3 of the Internal Revenue Code. Our revenue comes from individual donations, grants from corporations and foundations, church donations, fundraising, earned income, and a yearly contribution from the School Sisters of Notre Dame.
Like many nonprofits SisterHouse relies on donor contributions. Our contributors have continued to express their belief in our mission by providing monetary gifts. These donations keep SisterHouse accessible and open to serve the next woman in need.
We are truly grateful for the continued financial support provided by churches, grants, foundations, and individuals. We do not take your giving lightly. We are blessed to have you.

We regret to inform our supporters that our Director,
Lennette Pointer, passed away suddenly in April, 2017. Her
buoyant spirit has been missed every day. Lennette's positive
attitude impacted all aspects of Sister House. She was a
positive and guiding influence at the residence and gave her
all to the women of Sister House. She was a wonderful liaison
to donors and thanked each donor with gratitude and joy.
Each year her favorite event was the SisterHouse graduation.
At graduation friends and families unite to empower and
applaud the hard work of the graduates of SisterHouse. .

SisterHouse in your heart throughout the year and remember us
whenever you are able.
Thanks again for all your generosity.
Sincerely,
Susan Lescher, SisterHouse Board Chair

I'm LaTanya Simpson,
I have had an addiction to drugs and alcohol for over 30 years of my life. I am now 51 years old. At the age of 48, I was incarcerated twice within 30 days. I was sick and tired of using drugs and alcohol because this behavior continued to ruin my life. I continued to make bad choices which resulted in being homeless.
After 30 days of treatment, I still felt I needed additional help. My treatment counselor suggested a recovery home. I was then introduced to SisterHouse Recovery Home. I contacted SisterHouse and was accepted.
I was at SisterHouse for 2.5 years and they have saved my life and shown me how to live drug and alcohol free. I have completed successfully Intensive Outpatient Treatment, Outpatient and After Care Treatment Programs My sponsor and I currently work on the 12 steps of AA. SisterHouse, also sent me through The Cara Program, which is a professional and personal job development program.
SisterHouse has helped me to build a solid foundation to live successfully and productively in society, living life on life's terms without the use of drugs and alcohol.
Sincerely, LaTanya
Moments of Reflection from our Alumni
SisterHouse Fundraisers
SisterHouse —Three Fundraisers Each Year.
Spring Fling and Bling is our annual jewelry bazaar held in conjunction with Inspiration Kitchens.
Inspiration Kitchens provides job training and life skills to help build a better life for each participant in
their programs. The partnership has been an amazing success. Each year SisterHouse increases the
attendance and increases the money raised. Please join us next Spring!
Thursday nights are the new Friday night each fall at Fitzgerald’s. This fun fall event is held in Berwyn at
Fitzgerald's night club. Each year we add a new element. Join us this year for table side tricks with a local
magician.
St. Mary's Parish in Buffalo Grove holds a dual fundraiser for SisterHouse and St. Vincent de Paul. This
event has day time golfing and a dinner and raffle at the church. This event really inspires fellowship with
local parishioners and coordination with multiple groups.
SisterHouse is always looking for new ways to partner with the community and add fundraisers to our
calendar. Do you have any idea for a fundraiser? Or would like an opportunity to work with a local non-
profit? Reach out! We want to hear from you!
