Landform Pattern
Aspect: South facing slope
Low sunlight exposure
Less soil erosion and weathering
Creek flows adjacent to 1000 steps
relies mainly on surface run off and the ground water table for its continual flow.
We observed the creek starting naturally below site 3, being collected in a man made
pond, before flowing down the slop. At site 2 it was steadily flowing, however shortly after it
petered out, being absorbed by the drier soils at the bottom of the slope.

Soils
Parks Victoria prohibited us from taking soil samples at our sites, however the dark soil we observed has been identified by Parks Victoriaas being loam called Kraznozen. This soil type consists of a light friable clay.It has a moderate water holding capacity and allows water to moveeasily through it.It is well structured soil which is mildly acidic. They are non sticky, with minimal shrinking, swelling and erodibility.
These soils support a lush and wide diversity of plants.Organic content of the surface horizon of these loams can be high.
