GST) EA Members: free Non-Members: $30 Spronsored by: engineersaustralia.org.au Join the Mid North Coast Group for a tour of Chichester Dam Chichester Dam was constructed between 1915 and 1926 as the Hunter's first dedicated drinking water storage system. Chichester Dam is one of the Hunter's most important freshwater storage facilities contributing about 35 per cent of the Lower Hunter's potable water supply. Storage Volume: 18,356ML (1ML = 1 million litres) Dam height is 37 metres high. Engineers from Hunter Water will provide a interesting and informative tour of the dam and discuss the construction and history of the dam. Itinerary 10.30am: Attendees to meet at Dunkan Park picnic area which is below the dam wall, please wear sturdy closed in footwear and hi vis vest. Following the tour the group will stay on to enjoy a BYO lunch at the picnic area. Please note: The Mid North Coast Group are also hosting a tour of ‘Barrington Bridge’ on the previous day, 24 May at 3pm.
