TRANSCRIPT
A Grand Experiment✘ Review of material provided by the state.✘ Guided discussion questions.✘ This is just an intro to summer! In person
workshops still coming.✘ Meant to get you thinking, brainstorming, and
connecting!
USB Manual✘ State Library mailed out USB drives and
catalogs to every library in mid-October.✘ There have been glitches and errors in USBs
nationwide.✘ USE THE ONLINE VERSION OF THE MANUAL.
(more up-to-date)
Online Manual✘ You must login (every time) to view the manual
online. ✘ If you’ve forgotten your CSLP login/password,
you can be reminded/reset it.✘ The FIRST TIME you login you must request a
manual access code.✘ One code per building. You must use it (every
time) to view the manual.
✘ Your program can change from year to year.
✘ You’re not competing with any other libraries.
✘ There’s no ONE way your program has to look or work.
Ground Rules✘ Your mics are muted. If you want to talk, you’ll
need to unmute yourself.✘ Lacey, Sam, and I will be monitoring chat. You
can raise your hands virtually or ask to be called on in chat.
✘ We’ll look at some examples/hear from the crowd then move to more open discussion.
✘ Please share and ask questions, even if it’s just in chat. This is YOUR open forum to learn from each other.
✘ Step up, step back.
Reach Out!★ Where do you do outreach?★ Who do you partner with?★ Where are you present during summer
outside the library walls?

What Do I Get??
Program Power!★ What are your most popular programs?★ How do you include passive programs?★ Getting them in the doors.★ What worked? What didn’t?
“We created it out of old book shelves, old laptops and other things laying around the library. The buttons were made out of old jewel cd cases and lids from juice bottles. This was more loved than any program we put on this past summer! The kids played in it forever and was the talk of the town.”
