There are many types of non-linear texts. Therefore, you need to choose the descriptors that apply to the non-linear text (e.g. poster) you are teaching. Square brackets [poster] show which descriptors apply to the text. 11

KSSR SJK Year 1 does not explicitly require children to read non-linear texts (as a whole – it does require them to read words, phrases and sentences within them. However, SJK Y1 Standard 3.3.1 requires children to “create simple non-linear texts,” for which the ability to read such a text first is surely a pre-requisite.
