Well here goes another year started of brilliant in march and April, Chris preece was lucky 1st April, lovely day, weather was good with over 45 people turning up at lechlade. Garin, lechlade hung in with reasonable weather most of the time but it did feel on foot like you were in Glastonbury but those

who were there managed to get some skiing in. Slip in party was a good night out, good music by Steve Benny, a few more people would have been nice but those who supported the club had a good night. Cycling from Portbury to Bristol and back was a good run, couple of beers in Bristol docks helped the journey home but some cheated by their husbands pushing them up the hills on the way back. Llangorse was very lucky to happen this year with the lake being shut for 6 weeks prior to our arrival plus the campsite only just re opened because of the bad weather, ended up being the best week of the year, good time by all, except one person, my son, who won't be skiing for a few months after breaking his ankle in 3 places and spending a few days in local hospital, but no doubt he'll be back on the ski soon, well impressed with the kids skiing and knee boarding, well impressed with Joe Veater on a pair of skis which happens to

be heavier and bigger than he was, but I think all the kids enjoyed them selves on and of the water hopefully we can make 3 in a row with the good

weather next year. Got to go now, as my invalid son needs pushing around John Grimes

Presidents Prattle As the last ski line most of you have seen was attached to a boat , I guess we all better make the effort to record what we have all been up to.

Unfortunately I haven’t been to many events so all I can report on is hearsay and gossip, but as we all know that’s usually more interesting than fact. So if I offend anyone, it’s what I was told so blame someone else.

I often look on facebook with envy as our boaters say what a great day etc, etc, but apparently there are times when our words can cover the truth. Hopefully there are pics for our Secretary, who boarded with Karl with the famous words of “I’m really up for this” as they set off to Minehead and back via the Holms. It seems his stomach content from the previous boozy night was the

only thing on the up “on a great day sailing”.

What can I say about Chris, he even put a pic of the sunken Tractor on facebook. However we are trying to find the pic of his trailer when it flipped of the ball hitch and managed to put the engine on the back

seat of some Isle of Wight holidaymakers car. In fairness that was a lucky accident, as, had they not been parked there the whole lot would have gone straight over the cliff.

Missed out on Claire’s party but luckily our Chairman took charge during an emergency bracelet resealing and decided the fitter was very fit and ought to dance with him. As she was in the proper position he did what any red blooded disco dancer would do and grabbed her ass only to find she was a truncheon holder and not amused. Not quite as good as the old days when we went out with search lights, hammers and knives to sort out the thieves but as always a memorable party, enjoyed by all.

Must have been loads of other little gems people so come on send them in with the pics and everyone can smile and fondly remember. Lol.

In fairness the weather hasn’t been kind until last week so the seafront sit outsides have been very sparse, but maybe in the last couple of months we’ll all get together more often. I’m not a bike rider unfortunately and driving from pub to pub is a bit illegal after the first three, so maybe we should buy a club bus for next summer?

Good luck to all the racers, only two to go now (including ours in Sept) I miss it but am an evil Judge as they will tell you from Brixham.

See you on seafront, Rich Green.

The ski line is produced with contributions from club members, if you

would like to see it more often the how about getting involved?

I only edit the newsletter and this is only possible when I get contribu-

tions…. I’ll get off my high horse now and hopefully send another

newsletter in 6 weeks, that would be nice.

Thank you this month to John Grimes, Rich Green, Rachel Stacey and

Garin Cope for supplying some photo’s and articles.

Chris.
