Just push the button, move the Hole Saw back and forth and you have released the core! Drill the next hole easily and quickly, without struggling or waiting.

Simple! You can now use the smaller Hole Saw to center the drill. It is easy to drill a hole with the desired diameter. Extra adapter needed.

To remove the Hole Saw to use another diameter, just push the button and exchange the Hole Saw. Slide on another Hole Saw and you are ready to go.

Only one arbor needed for all Hole Saw diameters. No further need to have 2 arbors for large and small diameters.

It’s not all “just steel”The most diverse areas of work require their own individual range of steel qualities. This guarantees the best possible material performance over long life spans. For this reason, the choice between CV, HSS, Bi-Metal and HM models must be carefully evaluated according to the intended purpose of use.

High-alloyed Chrome Vanadium steel is used for work on softer materials such as wood, fibreboard and synthetic materials.

Bi- and Tri-Metal 65-67 HRC. The perfect combination of flexibility (due to the spring steel which despite bending, always returns to its original form) and durability, thanks to the HSS strip alloyed with Cobalt, which is welded on. Bi- and Tri-metal is heat treated in a vacuum furnace. Suited to work on wood and metal.

High Speed Steel, hardened in a vacuum furnace, is used for work on harder material such as metal (iron and steel), aluminium and non-ferrous metal.

Carbide, high abrasion resistance = longest life. Tungsten carbide blades are suitable for all areas of use.

Why are so many different blades required?The reasons for needing so many different blade types are naturally numerous. The material to be sawn plays a particularly important role.

Whether it is a hard material such as iron, Nirosta steel (stainless steel), hardwood or tile or, a soft material like softwood, plywood, synthetics or cork that is being sawn, determines what material the blade should be made of, what strength of teeth and which tooth geometry are most suitable.

The second factor to be considered is the thickness of the material which determines the length of toothing on the blade. The cut-quality desired also plays a pivotal role in this decision-making process. Here, the appropriate blade is determined depending on whether a rough cut is sufficient or if a finer cut is required, whether angle precision is necessary or if contours or curves are being sawn.

One further aspect of the material, which can be a decisive factor, is its form, e.g. metal profile or material combination – the so-called sandwich material

How to use a Reciprocating Saw?The reciprocating works along the same principles as a sewing machine. The cutting speed of the upwards/downwards movements can be adjusted in degrees or can be regulated electronically. The cutting speed ranges from 200 to 3000 cut/minute.*

When using harder materials, for example metals, lower cutting speeds are used. With softer materials like woods, higher cutting speeds are more appropriate. The clamped sawing blade is designed to cut during the upward movement. This is aided by the so-called pendulum cut.

The pendulum cut ensures that the blade is pressed against the material with extra force during the upward movement. In this way, it is possible to saw faster, while using the same amount of energy.

During the upward movement the blade is automatically drawn slightly from the material. These movements together produce the pendulum motion (pendulum cut).

Before you get started

Decide which is most important to you: the initial price of the blade or the cost per cut. For smaller jobs or occasional use, a low priced blade may be preferable. For larger jobs or regular use, a higher priced blade will actually be less expensive to use because it will deliver the lowest cost per cut. For really big jobs, the lowest possible sawing cost (cost per cm) is usually much more important than the initial price. Mandrex has a grading system to help you identify the different performance levels of blades.

Correctly identify what you’re cutting

Correctly identifying the material you are going to cut is the most important factor in choosing a blade. It directly affects the cutting speed and the life of the blade. You will find diamond blade recommendations charts throughout this catalogue to help you locate the proper blade for your job. Most Mandrex blades cut a RANGE of materials. For maximum performance (cutting speed and life), the material should be matched to the blade as closely as possible. As a general rule, determine the material which will be cut most often, or the material for which top blade performance is most important.

How to choose the correct diamond bladeChoose wet or dry cutting Choosing wet or dry may be a matter of user preference or job requirement. When using a power hand tool such as a power hand saw, it is not safe to use water because of the electrical power source. For tile and masonry saws, either wet or dry cutting blades can be used. Wet blades MUST be used with water. Dry blades may be used EITHER dry OR wet, as the job or equipment allows.

The significance of segment height

Total segment heights may be misleading because of non-diamond bearing segment bases necessary for the laser welding or brazing process. That is why Husqvarna shows you exactly how much of each segment has diamonds and can actually be used to cut. Diamond blade segment height by itself is not a true measure of a blade segment height by itself is not a true measure of a blade’s value. Many other factors affect a blade’s performance and consequent value. Consider the diamond size, concentration and quality, the hardness of the bond, the cutting power (torque) of the saw, and how well the blade specification is matched to the material being cut.

Membership now includes most of the major European abrasives manufacturers and is open to any company worldwide:• who operate an ISO certified quality system • whose products meet or exceed the safety requirements of the EN standards • whose products have been independently tested for compliance to the EN standards • whose factories have been independently audited for compliance to the EN standards

These companies are setting a clear signal against inferior and dangerous products which even when used properly, still represent a serious risk. Users of diamond tools and abrasives should be aware that these products rotate at extremely high speeds for efficient operation. Care must therefore be taken in order not to abuse these tools. The risk of product failure is increased with low quality products that are not designed and manufactured to conform to the respective standards and regulations in place. Such non-conforming products may not withstand mechanical loads and heat generated during use.

All member companies of oSa have to implement strict manufacturing, safety and quality standards that comply with the requirements of EN13236 and EN12413, and are regularly audited to ensure conformity. The oSa symbol displayed on an abrasive or diamond product is a further guarantee to the user of product safety and quality.

The EN 13236 marking shows that the producer has followed the essential safety requirements of the European safety standard for diamond saws in order to reduce the risks for the end-user. This marking will be used in combination with the oSa logo.

Diamond saw blades without EN 13236 AND “oSa” marking are prohibited and will be removed from the French and most European markets.

EZYGRIND - diamond coated pipe cutterThe Mandrex EzyGrind is the safest & fastest way to cut plastic pipes at or below floor level byinserting the tool inside the pipe and cutting from the inside. It is especially suited toconcrete slab construction, and difficult to access areas.

Using the Mandrex EzyGrind will enable you to produce a clean professional finish with one cutting action. The Mandrex EzyGrind is designed to cut PVC and HDPE pipes (sizes from Ø40 – 150mm). Suitable for pipes including encased pipes, pipe penetrations, conduits, storm water, sewer, WC’s, shower drains, floor wastes, down pipes and inspection openings.

The Mandrex EzyGrind is your safest choice as it works with a power drill, while cutting from inside the pipe protects the user from blade contact. The alternate method of using an angle grinder will cause potential safety problems. Many governments recommend using an alternative to an angle grinder wherever possible.
