Eaton combines field-proven apparatus and controls by integrating Cooper Power™ series VFI underground distribution switchgear with Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) distribution protection relays to provide a robust, innovative, fully integrated Smart VFI switchgear package.

• Consists of two independent three-phase overcurrent relays in a single package; each independent relay is configurable, enabled by user settings

• Automation and control

• One SEL-501 relay per three-phase feeder overcurrent protection, automation and control capabilities in an integrated package; includes battery backup power, as well as built-in metering functions

• Detailed event records available

• Communications

• Integrate the SEL-501 relay into serial or Ethernet-based communications with IEC 61850, IEC 60870-5-103, Mirrored Bits communications, Modbus and DNP3 protocols

• User-friendly programming template for quick and easy setup
