Kaco Powador 00 SeriesInverters without transformers

Higher efficiencyWithout transformers, the inverters of the Kaco 00series achieve optimal efficiency. As a specialist forinverters without transformers, Kaco has equipped alldevices of the 00 series with a full bridge and omittedthe boost converters. The self-controlled devices emu-late the sinus voltage curve of the public power gridusing a H4 bridge. Prerequisite for using the 00 seriesinverters is an input voltage higher than the grid peakvoltage.

Simple installationWith a MPP range of 350 to 600 V and an off-loadvoltage of 800 V the conditions for a simple systemdimensioning are ideal. The devices are connected tothe grid by screw terminals. The redundant 3-phasemonitoring, including an AC/DC sensitive residual-cur-

rent-operated protective device, facilitates the gridconnection, even in the case of systems with severalinverters.

Long service lifeAll inverters operate up to outputs of 8 kW with silentand purely passive cooling. The lost heat is optimallydissipated by the cooling element on the back. Thiscooling without mechanical fans reduces error sourcesand thus achieves a long life-cycle of the devices.

100% feed-inThe Kaco Powador 7900 was specifically developed forapplications with connections limits of 20 kW. Due tothe 100 % symmetrical feed-in of 20 kW, not one wattof power is wasted, not even in Spain, Italy or Greece.

The Powador 3200 – 5500 without transformers can be sin-gle-phase connected individually, due to their nominal out-put.

The single-phase Powador 6600 – 9600 have a nominal out-put of more than 5 kW; for this reason the unbalanced loadbetween feed-in phases should be considered during thedimensioning.

New current sensorThe new current sensor of the Kaco Powador 02 seriesenables more precise control and better MPP tracking.The inverters with electrical isolation satisfy with theireffortless installation, good efficiency as well as opti-mal operation by means of thin-film modules.

Effortless installationThe connections are situated on their own PCB withinthe casing and can be connected easily. For a faster andeasier wiring, all communication connections aremounted separately on a PCB. A DC circuit breaker isintegrated into the device.

Electrical isolationDue to the electrical isolation, the devices can be in-stalled even in places that would be impossible fordevices without transformers. The wide input voltagerange makes the devices extremely flexible and ena-bles feed-in even at low irradiation.

Kostal Piko – The single-phase All-in-One solution

Versatile applicationWith a generator power of 3 kW, the Kostal Pikosingle-phase inverter is convincing not only for its flex-ible range of applications in virtually all PV systems.Transformerless conversion as well as the standardintegrated DC disconnect are just two of the numerousfeatures of the Piko series. Moreover, and in additionto its high reliability, the inverter provides ease ofinstallation and a simplified country configuration.

Single-phase inverterAs single-phase inverter of the Piko series, Kostal Piko3.0 offers many special equipment features. Alreadyintegrated are the switch contact for own consumptioncontrol, an electronic DC disconnect as well as a data-logger and web server for system monitoring. Addi-tionally provided are standard interfaces such as

RS485, S0, two Ethernet as well as four analogue inputsallowing communications with other system compo-nents.

The latest technologyKaco only uses state-of-the-art technology for themanufacture of the new grid inverters of the TL3 series.The devices have extremely flexible applications withina range of 5 to 17 kW and satisfy the highest qualityrequirements. Real three-phase devices, they supplysinusoidal alternating current with a phase shift of120°. The devices are equipped as a standard withdata logger and web server as well as a graphic displayto show operating data including the new "priwatt"function in order to optimize own consumption. Alltechnical control functions can thus be directly handledvia a commercially available PC as well as via the firmlyimplemented M2M interface.

TL3 seriesThe transformerless inverters of the TL3 series operatewith two separate MPP trackers and can process solarenergy from up to four strings which can be completelyasymmetrically loaded. The input voltage range is de-signed particularly wide with 350 to 800 V. The startvoltage is already at 250 V, peak efficiency is 98 %.

Kaco Powador central invertersEfficient and reliable

Individual performanceWith generator outputs of 25 to 60 kVA, the invertersof the Kaco Powador series cover a broad performancerange completely. The ability of combining all devicesfreely enables any project to be realised optimally andindividually – from single-family houses to decentral-ized megawatt solar parks.

Powador TL3 seriesBased on the concept of the successful 30 kW familyand the switching concept of the Powador 14.0 TL3,these devices have been redesigned completely: Asthree-phase devices they feed in between the phaseswith a typical shift of 120°. A number of country-spe-cific presets are programmed into the inverters; simplyselect the required ones on site on the devices. Toachieve optimal adjustment the devices operate threeseparate MPP trackers, which can be loaded asymmet-rically. The input voltage range is designed particularlywide with 350 to 800 V.

The standard integrated communicationspackage enables – through numerous interfaces – sys-tem monitoring via the free company-own portal.Moreover, and in addition to their high reliability,the inverters provide ease of installation and a simpli-fied country configuration.

New generationSince 2014, the proven Piko family is being successivelyreplaced by a new generation with enhanced flexibil-

ity, an extended range of features and improved effi-ciencies. For all devices (except for Piko 5.5 10A), paral-lel connection enables an increase of the maximum DCinput current. Moreover, Kostal Piko 5.5 as well as Piko15 / 17 / 20 are provided with three independent MPPtrackers. All three-phase inverters have an integrateddatalogger and web server for systems monitoring, aswell as the communications interfaces Ethernet, RS485,S0 and four analog inputs. External consumers (e.g.heat pump, infrared heating, air conditioning) can bedirectly controlled; dynamic control of effective powercan be realized with the optional Piko BA sensor inter-face.
