Increase/Decrease Size of your Design

CanvaCanva is an online design tool that you can use to create posters, flyers, infographics, and more! Today, you are going to learn about the tool by creating an infographic.

1. Go to www.canva.com2. Sign up for an account by clicking on the red circle labeled “education”

3. Select the option to sign up with email4. For your email, use your Office 365 credentials: firstname.lastname@students.cobbk12.org5. For your password, use your student number (lunch number)6. Once you are logged in, click on the green “Create a design” button on the top left of the screen7. Scroll down to the Blogging and eBooks section and select the infographic option to open the

design editor8. The menu bar at the top allows you to resize, undo, redo, save, download, and share your designs9. The side bar allows you to add text, graphics, and images to your design10. At the top of you design, there is a tool bar that allows you to edit the text, graphics, and images

that you use

Creating a Design

1. You have the option to use one of Canva’s layouts and change the information to make it your own OR you can start from scratch an add background, text, and elements to create your own layout

2. For the design challenge today, start from scratch, and add the following elements:a. Make your design bigger by clicking on the plus sign in the bottom right cornerb. Start by adding a background – just click on the one you wantc. Add:

i. text in a variety of colors and sizesii. free photos

iii. shapesiv. iconsv. illustrations

vi. chartsd. Try adding a frame around a shape or an imagee. Try arranging elements in a grid

3. If you use Canva to complete an assignment for class, you will turn it in by clicking on the share button on the menu bar – you can either email it to your teacher or get a share link to post
