Speaking of the web
page, if we have any
members interested in
passing on some of their
expertise in the best
options of setting up a
website, please let me
know.
Dont forget to say hello to
all of the new members and
make them feel welcome.
Some are new to gaming so
dont scare them away :)

SEE YOU THERE
Hi Everyone,
I hope that you all had an
excellent month.
Firstly a mention for our
interactive campaign that got
off to a great start.
That is Dog County Range
Wars. Land was snatched up
by Ranchers eager to expand
their lot, and become the Land
Baron or Cattle Boss that will
name the new territory. In only
the first turn, players
aggressively began their takeovers, exploring unknown
lands and in some cases,
clashing with their neighbor's
already.
Shootouts have happened
between unfriendly land
claims.
New rivers and ranges have
been discovered.
See the players map where for
the first time, campaigners will
be able to see where their
opponents have explored.
Dog County Range Wars is
Snake Eyes Magazines first
interactive game, and opens
up loads more of new
campaign games, coming over
the next several months.
Space Hulk made the cover
of this months issue. A lot of
Games Workshop games came
and went with never a re
release. This is Space Hulks
forth release. Well 3.5 actu-
ally as the new game is the
same as third release with afew more missions, and
board pieces. Ideal for the
gamers who missed out on
the third edition as it was
packed full of very cool
Blood Angel Terminators and
unique Genestealers,
especially the Broodlord.
Whats also interesting about
Space Hulk is the overall
missions are pretty much the
same, in the box set for alleditions. It is the board
pieces, and the miniatures
that make up so much of the
appeal, and of course, you
just have to have it for your
collection.
I bought the second and
third edition, so wont be
chasing 3.5. That being said,
if GW re-releases Death
Wing and Genestealer
expansions Im there with
size 14 boots on.
We have had a lot of new
members join Garage
Gamers Group this month.
There was some discussion
on whether to continue hav-
ing a Members Page
included in Snake Eyes. This
will be the last issue it does,
but the Member List will,
from next month be shownon the GGG facebook page,
and eventually the web page

he game is set on a modular board made up
f various board secons which represent
orridors and rooms and which can be freely
rranged and locked together like ajigsaw
uzzleto represent the interior of a space
ulk. One player controls the Space Marine
erminators, and the other player controls
he Genestealers. It is an asymmetric game.
rst, in that the two players have dierent
orces to begin with. Second, in that the two
layers may have dierent objecves to fullll
uring a "mission" (the in-game term for a
arcular scenario of the game). The Termi-
ator player may have the objecve of de-
troying a specied area of the board or a
pecied Genestealer piece or some other
bjecve; and the Genestealer player may
ave the objecve of destroying a specied
erminator piece or all of the Terminator
ieces or some other objecve. Third, in that
he pieces of the two players move dierent-
y. The Terminator pieces move slowly; and
he Genestealer pieces move quickly. Fourth,
n that in regard to combat: the Terminator
ieces excel in ranged combat, but they are
weak in close combat; and the Genestealer
ieces excel in close combat, but they cannot
erform ranged combat at all. The pieces are
moved by the players through a system of
acon points", where each piece has a cer-
ain amount specied for it. A Terminator
iece has few acon points; and a Genesteal-
r piece has many acon points. The game is
otable for its hidden play mechanics, from
which it derives much of its playability and
ension. 3

play or to represent players?
Once you have you list of your
subject maer, then you can
create the playing eld and the
essence of all games, the goodies
and the baddies. Now you can
pick the historical, fantasy, or
sci genre you would like. Every-
thing is open to you, as this is
where your imaginaon works
best. For example you may want
Zombies, Naval warfare, and for
the game to be played in Outer
Space. What does this bring to
mind for you?
If this were my selecon, I
would break it down unto the
three elements. Do I want my
zombies like the WalkingDead, sort of shambling
along, or like World War Z,
where they dont shamble at
all? Are they smart zombies?
Then if I like the Naval idea, I
can incorporate that into a
space eet scenario. How big
are my ships? How did the
zombies get there? Is it a
plague in space? Is it real
space or a Star Wars type of
galaxy?
At this stage we have your

sure, however there are digital
edions available now as an e-
publicaon or even as PDF for
the older documents. This will
allow you to start creang
more space on your shelves
and display cabinets for the
things that you really want to
show o...your collecon.
Digital documents will work
on your phone, tablet, laptop
for portability, and you can
have the whole collecon in
one place. As you acquire the
digital edion you can then
buy some nice deep plasc
container boxes to store your
expensive rulebooks, and co-
decs. The same goes for your
novels and magazines. Get the
digital copy and pack away the
other. Of course you will want
to keep out your popular
books that you game with
oen, but you dont need the
others out. Unless they are old
edions, no one will really care
how many books or rulebooks
you have to show o, so make
room for those lovely painted

To put things in a more or-

rulebooks (both game and
army), then novels and then
magazines. Dont pack away
your tools and paints as you
might forget which box they
are in. Yes, this has happened
to me.
One of the issues facing a die
hard collector is storage. My
shelves are overowing from
me adding (damn it) rule-
books, games, new miniatures,
and novels to my collecon
Storage is eventually some-
thing that collectors will have
to plan for. That is, whats go-
ing to be on display, and
whats going to be packed in
boxes. Your gaming miniatures
are also ghng for space with
terrain, paints, tools and mod-
els sll in their box and maybe
even some rulebooks and
magazines as well. What to
do?
I love the original rulebooks

For starters you will need

ark Heresy is a role playing game set in the grim darkness of the 41st Millennium, the decaying dark
future of Warhammer 40,000.
My name is Castella Borgia, otherwise known as Elli; I am an Acolyte of the Ocio Assassinorum Vindicare temple under
the employ of Inquisitor Gelt. Fate has come for me I take a look around the bridge. The mechanical man claiming to be
Hastus had rigged the bridge to explode, but the threat is no more. Captain Odessa is dead. I let this sink in.
Earlier I had a communiqu from Inquisitor Gelt, informing me of my impending com-mission as Captain of the Faithful Intruder. A commission I was ready to turn down.
Captain is a tle I have run from my whole life. I instruct the remaining crew to escort
the captains body to the Medicae facility and begin to wander through the bowels of the
ship, lost in my own thoughts. My mind takes me on a reecve journey through my past.
A past I have run from day aer day.
I was born in Hive Tarsus on the planet of Scinlla. It was my home, my playground, for 6 short years. I am the daughter of
Padma and Akilah of the noble house Borgia. Rogue traders like many who have come before. Unl my enre family, my
friends, my teachers all were killed in a horric accident. I emphasize accident as rumours abound. The ocial report
blames a series of human errors, a miscalculaon on the ploed course, further exasperated by a novice navigator causing the
warp drive to malfuncon and tear the ship to pieces. But I know this is not true. Ive looked into it, it doesnt add up. Novice or
not, our navigator Numitor Molineaux was above reproach. His abilies were unrivalled and to suggest he made a mistake on
such a simple jump, a jump hed made hundreds of mes before, doesnt sit well with me. Neither does the suggeson that my
father could have made a mistake. This was charted space, no calculaons required, so how does an error get made?
I come across some of the crew milling about aimlessly in the corridors, mumble a few words of concern and understanding,
and give them fresh orders to occupy their me. They look relieved and connue about their dues. I connue on
To this day I cant recall how I came to be adri in deep space, void suit on, rather than oang dead amongst the carcass of
our ship. But adri I was and bleak was my prospects. As luck would have it a passing pirate found me while searching for
salvage and, upon recognizing my insignia and calculang the possible prot to be made, brought me on board as a valued
guest. Four years I spent on board the Black Duck and as a valuable commodity, was kept always at the side of its Captain,
Feistum. I quickly became more than just a guest, and became one of the crew. Feistum recognized my abilies and previous
educaon, and enhanced them whenever possible. I learned much from him on crew morale, and the skills needed to captain a
Ship. When he wasnt paying aenon, I would sneak away and work or train
with the crew. They became a substute for the family I had lost.
Im now passing through the engineerium and note again the general
malaise aecng the crew. I call the group together and praise their eorts
throughout the current events. I assure them that if they had not been so
vigilant the casualty rate would have been much higher. I direct them to
scour and cleanse the area where the bodies were found, and nish repairing
the drive cables, as an operaonal ship is vital to the remaining crews surviv-
al. They now appear to be more deliberate in their acons. I keep walking
Over the course of my me on the Black Duck more reports came in regard-
ing my families destrucon. These reports werent so ocial and it was be-coming clear that someone by the name of Myrchella Sinderfell was fast heading the suspect list. And rewards were being
oered for any informaon regarding possible survivors from my ship. Feistum and his crew, having become so fond of me,

decided not to claim these rewards, and instead used their inuence to gain me entry inside the Ocio Assassinorum where
they hoped the skills I would master would help hide me from those who looked. Skills that I cannot divulge here. As my
training progressed I came to the aenon of the Inquision, primarily Inquisitor Alaric Gelt of the Ordos Malleus, and was
chosen to head several key missions before becoming embroiled in the whole Child of Desny saga of which you have been
made aware. (See the Sister Krankies Diaries for more info).
I am stopped by the master of ordinance, Holt Sawyer, a veteran of many bales before today. He
looks withdrawn, the lines on his face more dened than usual, his eyes sunken deeper. He re-
quests addional personnel to help with acve dues, but this is a faade, I can see it in his stature,
like so many I have come across today he has taken the loss of his captain hard, and is looking for
direcon. Then it dawns on me; this ship and its crew are lost without their captain. If someone
with the right skills, the natural ability to lead, doesnt step up soon we will all be consigned to
oblivion. A lost ship among the stars. Which brings me back to the beginning. Fate has come for
me Its me for me to claim my birthright and provide a beacon of hope for all on board. So here I
am. To the crew and guests on board. This is your Captain speaking. Captain Castella Borgia. Rogue
Trader.
Innocence proves nothing"

Rivers and Mountain Ranges named, as Ranchers explore
the new territory. Already new names are appearing on the
map, as Ranchers make their mark. Two mountain ranges,
the Tyran Mountains, and Spectre Mountains have been
ocially named. Likewise Clearwater River, Blood River,
Serpents Leg, and Dribble River. If others have been found,
their nders are keeping big secrets.
Mayor Dumphrey isnt handing the town
over to anyone, he stated last Monday. One
of the new Ranch owners to purchase a cliam

Dogtown Mayor, Marty ODoney. Rumours

Three Ranch Bosss are rubbing their hands as the money

Lush Lands
Grazing Lands
Arid Lands
Abundant Lands
The Dog County Range Wars players map, allows players in the campaign to gauge their expansion in the new
territory as well as have a guess where their opponents might be. The colour coding shows where the real
money is, in terms of land and income. Lush Lands that are worked, (that is to say that a Ranch Hand is holding
that land at the end of the turn), is worth $100 income to that Ranch. Abundant Lands are worth $75, Grazing
Lands are worth $50 and Arid Lands will produce $25 per month if worked. This informaon will allow players to
plan their next expansion to create the most prot, and to defend the more expensive property, avoiding the
cheaper lands. The black squares around the map represent Trading Posts, and the big one in the centre is
where Dogtown is. The Red Squares are the Ranches. The dark green blobs are mbered hexes which when har-
vested will become grazing lands. Grey colours are mountain ranges which like the rivers and trading posts, can
be named as the players discover them. Silver can be found in the mountains, but its risky. You might lose thatranch hand. Red crosses show land clashes this turn where shoot outs have occurred.

Star Wars X-Wing
Stuart Shaws arcle
inspired a game to occur
here at GGG headquar-
ters. GGG member Dari-
an Chase nally threw
his lot in and claimed
Star Wars X-Wing as the
game that he had been
looking for, with a claimof never losing. I set out
as a righteous gamer to
prove him wrong, and show him that the old man wasnt too
bad himself.
Normally we would play without the addional weapons and
upgrade, and just the basic ships. We drew our sides. Darian
won the Rebels and I started with the Imperials which was ne
for me. Now just to shoot Luke, Wedge, and that damn B-
Wing.
I took all the Tie Fighters I could including Darth Vader in his
Tie Fighter Advanced. Unfortunately what I didnt take wasnotes, so the bale report will have to wait. My mistake was
not killing the B-Wing as I chose to just avoid it and its mul-
ple shields.
The game was 150 points as opposed to the normal 100. It
does make it longer but I did want to see what these newly
purchased ships could do.
The Tie Defender was cool but my ship of the match had to
go to the Tie Phantom. Its highest iniave card is a 7, yes but
4 aacks and add the Marksman card. Unfortunately Darian
clued in on this as well and went aer Whisper and the Tie
Phantom soon joined my dead ships line on the edge of the
mat, not from Darian however but my miscalculaons that
sent him o the edge of the game mat.
Darians ghter and my bane was Luke Skywalker, with R2D2
card and his own ability allowed him to repair his shields very
quickly. Aer what seemed like half a day of manoeuvring
around the star map it came down to Vader, with one hit re-
maining, and Luke and the B-Wing circling like vultures. I knew
that if I could stay ahead and turn to face this threat I might
have altered the end result, but in turning from the B-Wing it
was just not enough and good shoong ended the game as
Darth Vaders ship exploded.
Hence Darian was able to maintain his undefeated tle, anddid it again in a game a day later.
Star Wars X-Wing is a quick to learn and quick to play game.
The core box set comes with an X-Wing and 2 Tie Fighters, and
retails at around $50AUD.

On the SceneBy Glen Taylor
Challenge yourself without looking
Well this I did, and what follows is the story of it.
The Crocs below, belong to my friend John. A visit to his house found these ready for a Warmachine tourney. I liked the look of these guys
and thought why not? With one week to go, why not join in.
No problem, but I had never played this game and owned no gures, so there was my challenge. Monday saw a trip to the store and below
s what I purchased, thankfully again I had help from friends and brought exact points I needed.
Tuesday saw the last of models put together, and Wednesday the start of the painng.
By Friday with the painng nished, (picture below) all that was le is to read the rules and get to the tournament.

Warmachine and Hordes, is unlike any sys-
tem I have played before but over the
course of the 4 games found my way. The
event was well run and I had a good me.
Each of my opponents was more than willing
to help a newbie and explain things.
Thanks to Allen for running the event in its
7th year I believe and to all the workers who
cooked breakfast and lunch as well as helper
with seng up and packing up.
So as you can see I JUMPED and survived !!
The outcome is a painted force that I can
play with in a new game for me. New friends
were made and more waing in futuregames. Win / win at the end and who knows
when I will jump again, thanks for sharing
my journey with me

Great WarThe Great War of 1914-18 was global in its
reach. Yet this global conflict would be
decided by the mighty clashes upon the
battlefields of Europe.

tered some wet weather, producing
patches or whole battlefields of mud

and 1917).
You can either designate patches of your
battlefield as Muddy or choose to call the
whole battlefield Muddy. Muddy terrain is

either utterly destroyed by shelling and
fighting or cleared to provide a field of
fire for machine-guns. These woods
still provide some cover.
Shattered Woods are Slow Going for all
teams trying to pass through. A Shattered
