Current U.S. Policy Focus
• Investment Tax Credit
– This year: Tie ITC eligibility to commencement of construction, rather than “placed in service”
– Next year: Secure long-term extension of the ITC, both individual (Section 25D) and commercial (Section 48)
– Prospects are not great, but we’re working hard with SEIA and other solar advocates
– SunPower’s approach: Hope for the best, prepare for the worst
• Clean Power Plan implementation
– SunPower is supporting the litigation to defend the Clean Power Plan
– Work with other solar advocates on the design of State Implementation Plans
– We see the Clean Power Plan as a great long-term market driver for solar
• Net Metering and Rate Design
– Defend NEM and retain favorable rate designs
– Minimize the shift from variable (per-kWh) to fixed monthly charges
