Overview

SolarNow is a for profit social business with Dutch origins, focused on provision of high-quality solar home

systems, electrical appliances and power solutions that are designed to fit the needs of both rural and urban

households, entrepreneurs and institutions. SolarNow was registered in Uganda in May 2011 and is a

subsidiary of SolarNow B.V, a European company registered in The Netherlands. SolarNow stemmed from a

7-year experience with the Rural Energy Foundation (REF), training hundreds of rural entrepreneurs across

Africa to develop solar energy enterprises. It currently has 36 branches across Uganda with aspirations to

grow in East Africa.

their lives. Our organization is driven by building long-lasting client

relationships. To serve our clients we have invested in customer care toll-free

(0800 700 700) number and an after-sales service team. We regularly seek to

understand our client’s satisfaction. We offer a 5 year free service period on

our solar home systems*. Also, our financing options enable all of our clients,

large or small to receive quality services through customized pay plans they

can afford.

International quality product range that can be upgraded over time

At SolarNow, we focus on sustainable power solutions to transform lives. Our systems are sourced according to International standards. We invest in surveys, research and development and continuously pilot advanced solar solutions to satisfy our clients’ needs. Our systems are upgradable over time, so we are able to grow as you do. In addition to lights, we currently offer a wide range accessories and appliances such as radio, TV, flat irons, solar water pumps, refrigerators, security flood lights and will be introducing many more soon.

Wide Distribution

SolarNow boasts a growing distribution network of 36 branches in all major districts across Uganda and plans to grow across East Africa. As at end of 2015, SolarNow had over 10,000 systems successfully installed to direct clients and benefiting a community of thousands of users.

SolarNow’s current product range

*During this period, the Client is entitled to approach SolarNow’s Service Team (toll free number 0800 700 700), and SolarNow shall visit the Client to analyze and fix the problem

without charging labor and transportation costs. The standard warranty on the Products is five (5) years. That means that SolarNow shall repair or replace malfunctioning parts at no

costs during five (5) years after installation of the Products. This includes the power station, the wiring, switches, charge controller and all installation materials. The warranty for the

solar panels shall however be twenty (20) years. The warranty for electrical appliances (e.g. radio, USB hub, lights, television, fridge, flat iron, decoder, inverter, etc.) and batteries shall

be limited to one (1) year.
