Happy New Year to all of you Manigong

Bagong Taon Feliz Ano Nuevo Many many thanks

to our generous helpers who did amazing work on

decorating our church for the Christmas season We

are very grateful to them for their warm spirit of volunteerism

hard work time and sacrifices on our behalf Also a special thank you to

our Liturgy Committee our choirs and our EMHCs lectors ushers altar

servers sacristans greeters money counters and anyone else that I maybe

have failed to mention We appreciate you and we are grateful

Our students from both schools resume classes Tuesday Have you

ever checked out our schools Please feel free to arrange a tour any time

and our staff will be happy to accommodate you

Congrats Holy Family The Toy Drive for the underprivileged

children was a huge success We collected over 700 toys for the needy

Thanks tons for your generosity

One Life LA is coming up on Saturday January 21 This is an

exciting day filled with gifted speakers Itrsquos all about promoting a greater

respect for life Come and stand in solidarity with other believers to promote

a positive pro-life culture Speakers include Immaculeacutee Ilibagiza Karyme

Lozano Chris Stefanick Kirk Bloodsworth and Christopher Duffley The

event begins at La Placita downtown at NOON The event concludes at 4

pm and then there is a beautiful Mass at the cathedral at 5 pm See

We also have our Winter Dinner Dance coming up on Saturday

January 28rd at 6 pm We have a fantastic renowned Hollywood DJ for this

fun event Our nominees for Mr and Mrs Holy Family to be announced at

the Winter Dinner Dance are Jenny amp Denny Cagampan Susana amp Manuel

Moreno Tess amp Tim Travis Our theme this year is ldquoA Night to Remberrdquo

Music by Willie Ormes Hollywood DJ Come and support our nominees

Amidst the violence the vitriol the lack of civility and the injustices in

our world I hope and pray that 2017 will be one of much greater dialogue

compromise reconciliation peace love and goodwill towards all Perhaps

we as Catholics can start with peace and charity in our hearts and help

spread the love of Jesus throughout the world Amen

Natural Family Planning

NATURAL FAMILY PLANNING

In an effort to give practical help to married and engaged couples to live

out the teaching of the Church a three-part course on Natural Family

Planning is starting soon The method that will be taught is called the

Sympto-thermal method which has been scientifically proven to be safe

and highly effective in both achieving and postponing pregnancy The

series will be taught by Couple to Couple League volunteers Aaron and

Michele Kezele

Natural Family Planning

NATURAL FAMILY PLANNING

In an effort to give practical help to married and engaged couples to live

out the teaching of the Church a three-part course on Natural Family

Planning is starting soon The method that will be taught is called the

Sympto-thermal method which has been scientifically proven to be safe

and highly effective in both achieving and postponing pregnancy The

series will be taught by Couple to Couple League volunteers Aaron and

Michele Kezele

Dates Saturdays January 28th February 25th and March 25th

Natural Family Planning

NATURAL FAMILY PLANNING

In an effort to give practical help to married and engaged couples to live

out the teaching of the Church a three-part course on Natural Family

Planning is starting soon The method that will be taught is called the

Sympto-thermal method which has been scientifically proven to be safe

and highly effective in both achieving and postponing pregnancy The

series will be taught by Couple to Couple League volunteers Aaron and

Michele Kezele

comienzo de un antildeo nuevo tiene una larga trayectoria en

la historia humana Hace unos 4000 antildeos el pueblo de

Babilonia ya festejaba la llegada de un nuevo antildeo con

grandes fiestas de primavera Los judiacuteos al igual que

otros pueblos agriacutecolas tambieacuten celebraban su antildeo

nuevo durante la primavera el primer diacutea de Nisaacuten (a

principios de abril)

Fue Julio Ceacutesar quien nos dio la fecha del primero de

enero como el inicio de nuestro calendario En 1582 el

Papa Gregorio XIII reformoacute el calendario para darnos el

que actualmente estaacute en uso No obstante los cristianos

continuaron celebrando el antildeo nuevo en primavera para

evitar los excesos del ldquohombre viejordquo Hace 400 antildeos la

Iglesia comenzoacute a celebrar el diacutea primero de enero
