CMP Oil & Gas is CMP Group’s division dealing with Services, Supplies and Technology specifically tailored for the Oil and Gas sector. Its activity ranges among corrosion control, environmental services, industrial maintenance, water and wastewater treatment and disposal.
CMP Oil & Gas Workgroup is coordinated and directed by a team of Consultants, Engineers, Qualified Professionals and well known Partner Companies and relies on the support and collaboration of the CMP Group Research & Development Center. Our highly specialized and experienced crew is capable of proactively intervene in any and each of the project phases, from the preliminary engineering to the execution, also within the HR training.

The services range from field and lab analysis to determine the corrosion causes, to the design and implementation of systems for corrosion control, to the certified inspections on coatings and to the assistance for the preparation and implementation of the Client’s technical specifications and/or procedures.
CORROSION FAILURE ASSESSMENTS AND INSPECTIONSThrough field data collection, inspections, lab and on-site testing, the causes that led to the damage of coatings, materials and metals are deeply and thoroughly investigated.
Following the assessment, the production processes or the project documentation can be modified and tailored to eliminate the causes of failures.
The intervention areas are marine facilities, infrastructures, bridges, water supply systems, piping, ships, cathodic protection, analyzing a wide range of materials including carbon and low alloy steels to copper alloys, stainless steels and nickel alloys.
MATERIALS’ TESTINGCMP Oil & Gas has access to a large number of powerful testing methods for corrosion and coating, both in the laboratory and on field. With test results it is possible to interpret data and implement new solutions. Furthermore it is possible to perform ad hoc testing for coating certification targeted to fulfill the needs of the end-Clients.
MATERIALS’ DESIGNOur experienced Engineers provide advice on specific and peculiar materials that can be used for special applications, in order to avoid the different types of corrosion in diverse kinds of atmospheres and within fluids and solids.
NACE COATING INSPECTIONSWe provide coating inspections with experienced and certified Engineers worldwide.
TRAINING AND COURSESOur experts perform courses on corrosion and corrosion control issues and on inspection techniques for surface preparation and coating application. Classes can be general or specially tailored according to Customer’s needs.
OPERATING PROCEDURES AND TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONSPreparation, update, improvement and implementation, including paint specification, working procedures, inspections test program, and/or other corrosion/coating related documentation according to the Client’s needs.

O&G ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICESTREATMENT AND DISPOSAL OF DRILLING WASTE• Dewatering of water based mud through closed loop filtration systems,
achieving the separation of the water from the solid phase. The recovered water can be reused at the rig site for washings, and the solid fraction can be recycled as backfilling material.
TREATMENT AND DISPOSAL OF REFINERY WASTEDesign and construction of tailored plants for the treatment of the refinery sludge, through our experienced Engineers and Partner Companies.
TANKS AND PIPELINES TIGHTNESS TESTINGTesting of above ground tanks (refineries, terminals, fuel deposits), underground tanks (fuel stations, chemical plants) and pipelines (terminals or long distance underground pipelines) through tracer gases.
The method provides an ultimate answer whether the analyzed facility is leaking or not in the ground, through the analysis of the soil interstitial gases. The tested tank or pipeline remains in operation throughout the performance of the testing.
ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT AND REMEDIATIONCMP Oil & Gas crew has the required know-how and experience to select among our network of referenced Partners the most suitable and advanced methods and technologies to perform the characterization of a contaminated area and implement the best environmental and economical solution for the remediation of soil and groundwater.
HAZARDOUS WASTE MANAGEMENT AND DISPOSALOur Experts have the capability of designing Hazardous Waste Management and Disposal Plans for O&G facilities, due to their experience in the sector, and they can also support the Client for the final disposal of the items, either on the territory or abroad depending on the disposal plants availability.
Some of our partners are specialized in the construction of treatment plants, including incinerators and landfills.
• Inertization of oil based mud cuttings through the mixing with specific chemical additives. The result is a waste in compliance with local regulation (the treatment is tailored to obtain the required regulatory limits), which can be disposed of or reused as backfilling material.
The treatments can be performed at the rig site through containerized mobile plants or in a centralized treatment facility.
The inertization process can be applied also to the treatment of soil contaminated by hydrocarbons and to other type of waste, contaminated by hydrocarbons and/or heavy metals (i.e. soil contaminated by hydrocarbons, sludge deriving from industrial processes, etc).

CMP Oil & Gas team is capable to provide support for industrial maintenance operations necessary within any O&G facility, including but not limited to refinery tank cleaning and relining of underground pipelines with no-dig technology. TANK CLEANING WITH CRUDE OIL RECOVERYThe service is implemented within refineries and terminals by CMP Oil & Gas Partners having several decades of experience.
The cleaning is performed through the COW (Crude Oil Washing) system, and it allows the recovery of up to the 95% of the hydrocarbons present within the bottom sludge of the tank, depending on its specific characteristics.
The involved personnel is specifically trained for the operations and for the H&S procedures within refineries and terminals.

OTHER INDUSTRIAL MAINTENANCE SERVICESHydrodynamic washing for equipment de-scaling, Paint stripping, High Efficiency Sandblasting with abrasive material recovery, Hydrodemolition, Cold cutting (waterjet cutting) performed within refinery ATEX zones through certified personnel and equipment.
RELINING OF UNDERGROUND PIPELINES WITH NO-DIG TECHNOLOGYStructural continuous piping repair through non destructive and no dig relining technology is performed with the insertion of a liner impregnated of special resins (selected depending on the fluid flowing in the pipe), pushed into the pipe stretch through air or water, and warmed up by controlled heating cycles to achieve the polymerization of the resin.
This operation creates a new pipe inside the old one, with the mechanical and chemical characteristics required by the use of the pipeline.
It is applicable to underground pipelines of any diameter, shape and material, for example refinery sewage systems, chemical and petrochemical pipelines, fire suppression systems, drinking water mains, stormwater collection systems, any buried pipeline needing maintenance without digging and substituting.

WATER AND WASTEWATER TREATMENTThe services that CMP Oil & Gas can offer through its Partners regarding the treatment of primary water and wastewater include the desalinization and potabilization of primary water, ultrafiltration units for refinery and power generation plants, industrial and sanitary wastewater treatment plants including modular and compact plants.
Under certain circumstances, the rental of compact containerized units is also available to the Customers.
