Today’s Agenda
Bell ringer Report out sheets Get the Point p. 42
Announcements
Last day I’ll accept extra credit is Friday, October 31st
HW Hall today and tomorrow until 4:30pm
ACT math session tomorrow during 8th and 9th periods in the library
Report Out sheets
Get the Point p. 42
System of linear equations: a set of two or more linear equations with common solutions
We already know TWO methods: Guess and check Graphing
Today, we’re learning the substitution method.
Substitution
1. Solve one of the equations for a variable.
2. Plug your resulting expression into that variable in the other equation.
3. Solve that other equations for the other variable.
4. Plug that value into either equation and solve to get the value of the other variable.
Example
Tonight’s HW
HW16 p. 47 and HW17 p. 48 are due Monday, October 27th
