TRANSMISSION LINES ENGINEERINGSTATEMENT OF QUALIFICATION / EXPERIENCE IN THE USA

One of the strongest areas of expertise of HMV is in the T&D area, composed by a group of more than 400 engineers, technicians, and drafters, in each of the different disciplines involved these types of projects.

The T&D area of HMV has developed a very well reputed name by the execution of successful substations and transmission lines projects in most of the countries of the Americas, participating in all of the stages from conceptual, through basic and detail engineering, electrical studies, testing and commissioning, and also participating in the full EPC development of transmission projects.

For the development of the transmission lines projects HMV establishes a group of engineers with experience undertaking projects in the USA, and familiar with standards of different utilities. The Group is integrated by engineers of the different practices invol-ved in the design of a high voltage transmission lines, such as electromechanical design, including tower dimensioning, grounding system, lightning shielding system, insulator strings definition, conductor selection, etc., as well as structural analysis, and civil works design.

Each of the projects undertaken by HMV is a Project Manager which, apart from coordinating every technical and administrative aspect of the project, is also the contact with the Client for its development.

Each of the disciplines are led by a highly experienced engineer, in charge of coordinating all the activities within his own group and with the other disciplines.

The main positions and names of the indicated organization are depicted in the following chart:

5. PROJECT ORGANIZATION CHART

Each of these coordinators is supported by a group of highly specialized engineers with extensive experience in the development of H.V. transmission systems.

As indicated in the chart, additional from the personnel involved in the project execution, it has been defined the roles of the Client Manager, in charge of the high level relations with the Client, and also the role of the Local Technical/Commercial support.

A short description of each of the main roles and responsibilities of the group are indicated next.
