Summer School on Methodology in Bertinoro 5-10 September 2016
The fellow Filomena Berardi has participated in the Summer School on "Mediation and Moderation: Application to the general linear models, mixed and generalized” led by Prof. Gallucci and Dr. Fogiarini, using R. The course took place at the Residential University Center of Bertinoro and was organized in cooperation with the Italian Association of Psychology.

The SoReCom Joint-IDP complementary Training Activities
UACES 46th Annual Conference London, 5-7 September 2016
The SoReCom-Joint-IDP fellow Marija Adela Gjiorgjioska has actively participated in the 46th Annual Conference of the Academic Association for Contemporary European Studies. S h e p r e s e n t e d a p a p e r e n t i t l e d S o c i a l Representations of Refugees: Objects, Anchors and Positions of the Left in SEE. Taking as case studies left groups from Macedonia, Bulgaria and Croatia, she sought to determine the variations between intergroup beliefs and positioning, but also if and how these variations determine the actions taken.

The 13th edition of the International Conference on Social Representations was held in France in Marseille and very well organized by the Laboratory of Social Psychology (LPS, EA849) of the Aix-Marseille University. Several hundreds of participants from all the continents have been warmly welcomed by its President prof. Thémis Apostodolidis and prof. Lionel Dany on behalf of the organization committee at the wonderful Palais du Pharo .

Meeting of the SoReCom Joint-IDP Sapienza Supervisory Board
September 15, 2016
The Sapienza Supervisory Board (Project Leader Annamaria de Rosa, Bruno Mazzara, Giovanna Leone, Mauro Sarrica and the invited member dr. Laura Dryjanska), held a joint meeting during the 13 ICSR in Marseilles aimed at: a. Sharing an update view of the current status of the project b. Informing about the approved abstracts submitted to
forthcoming international conferences with active participation of the ESRs at individual level
c. Deciding to send an invitation to the Fellows to meet the next
deadlines for submitting the thesis outline, in order to be ready to achieve the challenge of the final dissertation in agreement with the 3rd year plans and time management. It was decided to exceptionally extend the deadline of the submission of the final version of the thesis and of the short article – already approved by the main supervisor and Sapienza co-tutor - from March 31 to April 18, 2017. These versions will be then sent by the Director of the SoReCom Joint-IDP to the to the members of the external examining board who will be invited for the Final Jury.
Following the meeting the fellows – who are freely working at home since some months for elaborating their individual thesis – have been invited to send a first table of contents of the thesis by the end of September.

Naples, 22-24 September 2016
The conference took place at the prestigious historical location of Accademia Pontaniana organized under the Department of Humanities of the Federico II University of Naples. The social events (a fascinating visit to the Ascione Coral Museum enriched by a concert and the social dinner at the Transatlantic Restaurant on Naples Gulf) contributed to the friendly atmosphere.

The meeting aims to bring together junior and senior researchers to discuss
theoretical aspects of Moscovici’s work, his conceptual contributions, and the
impact of his findings on of social psychology. The meeting is therefore open to
participation beyond the circle of past Moscovici’s collaborators. Applications
from PhD students are particularly welcome. We will examine how Moscovici’s
contributions can help to face the contemporary challenges of our discipline, if it
wants to have societal impact: Rising tensions between communities, the
necessity to help individuals change to more sustainable behaviour; new digital
systems for social networking, increased intercultural contacts through
globalization, emerging forms of collective intelligence (e.g. Wikipedia), etc..
