Summer School on Methodology in Bertinoro 5-10 September 2016

The fellow Filomena Berardi has participated in the Summer School on "Mediation and Moderation: Application to the general linear models, mixed and generalized” led by Prof. Gallucci and Dr. Fogiarini, using R. The course took place at the Residential University Center of Bertinoro and was organized in cooperation with the Italian Association of Psychology.

The SoReCom Joint-IDP complementary Training Activities

UACES 46th Annual Conference London, 5-7 September 2016

The SoReCom-Joint-IDP fellow Marija Adela Gjiorgjioska has actively participated in the 46th Annual Conference of the Academic Association for Contemporary European Studies. S h e p r e s e n t e d a p a p e r e n t i t l e d S o c i a l Representations of Refugees: Objects, Anchors and Positions of the Left in SEE. Taking as case studies left groups from Macedonia, Bulgaria and Croatia, she sought to determine the variations between intergroup beliefs and positioning, but also if and how these variations determine the actions taken.

13th International Conference on Social Representations Marseilles, 13-17 September 2016 "Epistemologies of everyday life”

The 13th edition of the International Conference on Social Representations was held in France in Marseille and very well organized by the Laboratory of Social Psychology (LPS, EA849) of the Aix-Marseille University. Several hundreds of participants from all the continents have been warmly welcomed by its President prof. Thémis Apostodolidis and prof. Lionel Dany on behalf of the organization committee at the wonderful Palais du Pharo .




Five plenary conferences by the keynote speakers were included in the program:

11 SoReCom Joint-IDP ESRs: Marija Adela Gjiorgjioska, Maryia Kukharava, Laura Arhiri, Ana Tomicic, Mihaela Alexandra Gherman, Teresa Forte, Aminat Ramazanova, Borja Escudero de Maderia, Monica Panzaru, Carlos Miguel Aguilar and Filomena Berardi have participated in the 13th I n t e r n a t i o n a l C o n f e r e n c e o n S o c i a l Representations in Marseilles.




Among other activities, the Round Table organized and introduced by Denise Jodelet (France), Beatrice Madiot (France) and Brigido Camargo (Brazil) entitled:

"Approche interculturelle des processus de réception et d’interprétation d’une œuvre d’art : « La trilogie Qatsi »” has been an excellent occasion to discuss selected results from several countries and continents (Europe, Latin America, Africa) presented by an international team of researchers collaborating to the cross-cultural research program: •  Susana Seidmann, University of Buenos Aires, Argentina; •  Brigido Camargo, University of Florianopolis, Brazil; •  Hallouma Cherif, Université d’Oran, Algérie; •  François Joseph Azoh, Yapo Yapi, Université d’Abidjan, Côte

d’ivoire; •  Denise Jodelet and Béatrice Madiot, E.H.E.E.S., France; •  Annamaria de Rosa and Elena Bocci, Sapienza University of Rome,

Italy.




The conference was also an occasion to share memories and to pay tribute to the founder of the scientific field Serge Moscovici and to Celso Pereira De Sa, who has intensively contributed to disseminate and develop it in Latin America.




Moreover, the conference constituted an interesting occasion of exchange with colleagues from all over the world, including some new contacts, as well as institutions already partners of the SoReCom THEmatic NETwork of excellence. Deep thanks to the organizers and looking forward to continue the intellectual journey in view of the 14th International Conference on Social Representations in Buenos Aires (Argentina) in 2018.



Meeting of the SoReCom Joint-IDP Sapienza Supervisory Board

September 15, 2016

The Sapienza Supervisory Board (Project Leader Annamaria de Rosa, Bruno Mazzara, Giovanna Leone, Mauro Sarrica and the invited member dr. Laura Dryjanska), held a joint meeting during the 13 ICSR in Marseilles aimed at: a.  Sharing an update view of the current status of the project b.  Informing about the approved abstracts submitted to

forthcoming international conferences with active participation of the ESRs at individual level

c.  Deciding to send an invitation to the Fellows to meet the next

deadlines for submitting the thesis outline, in order to be ready to achieve the challenge of the final dissertation in agreement with the 3rd year plans and time management. It was decided to exceptionally extend the deadline of the submission of the final version of the thesis and of the short article – already approved by the main supervisor and Sapienza co-tutor - from March 31 to April 18, 2017. These versions will be then sent by the Director of the SoReCom Joint-IDP to the to the members of the external examining board who will be invited for the Final Jury.

Following the meeting the fellows – who are freely working at home since some months for elaborating their individual thesis – have been invited to send a first table of contents of the thesis by the end of September.

Italian Association of Psychology Annual Meeting of the Social Psychology Division

Naples, 22-24 September 2016

The conference took place at the prestigious historical location of Accademia Pontaniana organized under the Department of Humanities of the Federico II University of Naples. The social events (a fascinating visit to the Ascione Coral Museum enriched by a concert and the social dinner at the Transatlantic Restaurant on Naples Gulf) contributed to the friendly atmosphere.





The conference included various contributions on social representations by leading Italian experts in the theory, such as the round table by Ida Galli (Federico II University of Naples) on the “Representations of the Social”, divided into two parts. The first one included the following presentations: •  Le immagini come punto d’accesso per lo studio delle

Six SoReCom Joint-IDP ESRs (Laura Arhiri, Mihaela Alexandra Gherman, Teresa Forte, Aminat Ramazanova, Borja Escudero de Maderia and Monica Panzaru) have actively participated in the Round Table organized by the Project Leader Annamaria Silvana de Rosa and with Dr Mauro Sarrica as discussant, entitled: “Per un’analisi meta-teorica della produzione scientifica sulle rappresentazioni sociali nel mondo: approcci paradigmatici, ancoraggi geo-culturali e orientamenti tematici”

contributions can help to face the contemporary challenges of our discipline, if it
