With the increase of online purchases boosted by shopping sites like e-bay and amazon I’m sure most of us have had some sort of parcel or package delivered to our houses. And for many people who don’t have the pleasure of spending all their time indoors wait- ing for said parcel to arrive then most of us, at one time or another would have been greeted by the “sorry we missed you” red slip when they arrive home. The friendly tone of this slip would suggest that the post office would do whatever they can to get your parcel in to your hands, you can have the parcel re-delivered at around the same time it was be- fore on another day when suprisingly you wont be in, you can collect the parcel from your ‘local’ post office again only at times when any average person will be at work or on a saturday morning. But i’m an impatient person, receiving a parcel is as exciting as opening my christmas prezzies and if I receive my pain in the arse red slip on a monday then I couldn’t possibly wait untill saturday knowing my parcel lay there calling my name. So what do the Post Office Offer to resolve this situation?: Arrange for the parcel to be re-delivered The parcel will only be delivered mon-fri during working hours or on sat for extra cost Pick the parcel up from a local post office depot The pick up times again are during working hours or early on a suturday morning or you can have it delivered to a local ost office for 50p Re-designing a public service

With the increase of online purchases boosted by shopping sites like e-bay and amazon I’m sure most of us have had some sort of parcel or package delivered to our houses. And for many people who don’t have the pleasure of spending all their time indoors wait-ing for said parcel to arrive then most of us, at one time or another would have been greeted by the “sorry we missed you” red slip when they arrive home. The friendly tone of this slip would suggest that the post office would do whatever they can to get your parcel in to your hands, you can have the parcel re-delivered at around the same time it was be-fore on another day when suprisingly you wont be in, you can collect the parcel from your ‘local’ post office again only at times when any average person will be at work or on a saturday morning. But i’m an impatient person, receiving a parcel is as exciting as opening my christmas prezzies and if I receive my pain in the arse red slip on a monday then I couldn’t possibly wait untill saturday knowing my parcel lay there calling my name.
